MnSoxFan
That'll make Jason happy. I am a very big Young fan, I think he will be a very good major leaguer.
dasox24
Bristol wins, nice start for Casey, decent relief, 2 hits for Brandon Allen. Nice to see Casey start off well and Allen get 2 hits! Hopefully, the transition to a wooden bat won't affect him that much.
danman31
Nice to see Casey start off well and Allen get his first 2 hits of pro career. Allen actually went 1-4 yesterday...
dasox24
Allen actually went 1-4 yesterday... oops, my bad... well, how about congrats to Allen on getting his 1st stolen bases as a pro. Also, I really think that Rogo is deserving of a called up to B-Ham. He's really doing well for W-S, and is the only real 1B prospect in our system, so he really should get a chance at B-Ham. dasox24
Great Falls won 7-6 over Billings. Berry and Collaro w/ 2 hits apiece w/ Collaro having 5 rbi. Chisoxfn
I am a very big Young fan, I think he will be a very good major leaguer. Me and you have long been the Chris Young fan club. I think it started at some point last year. I remember the two of us talking about him and agreeing he had some serious potential. He's still got a lot of things to learn, but his abilities stand out. Great speed, hits for power, good defense, and at times shows the ability to flat rake the ball for average. I like this guy's stuff. He could be a surprise as a low round pick.
Palehosefan
Hopefully Russell can teach the other giant on the teach, Rylan Reed, somethings about pitching. I'm still waiting for Reed to live up to that 95mph fastball coming out of the draft. A 6'8 250 and 6'7 260 pounder on the same pitching staff, thats scary. Give up on Rylan Reed, this is his 4th season in the rookie leagues, he will never turn it around at this rate.
Guest JimH
They knew Rylan Reed would be a long term project when they signed him, but I'd guess they felt he'd make more progress by now. He's 22 and hasn't gotten to A ball yet. I asked about him in spring training and didn't get much information.
Palehosefan
Yeah, we haven't had much success with football size pitchers lately. Brian West, Reed, and Wright haven't lived up to their big builds and 95mph heat coming out of the draft. Hopefully Russell can change that trend, he's off to a good start. I also think Brandon Allen will be a very good player in the future, he has the body and the athletic ability to be a good one, lets just hope he develops.
