Gene Honda Civic
Kenny's on vacation in Aruba. He's scouting new talent. He'll be back August 1st. If you think KW is dumb enough to this think is a contending team come playoff time, you're sorely mistaken. He's doing everything he can right now, but there are far too many teams that think they are "in it" still, so the pool to trade from is shallow, and the price is steep. Mr. Showtime
Kenny was quoted in one of the papers as saying the trading waters are improving. Teams are starting to open up and talk deals. I have no doubt he'll make moves, only fear is that it will be to late.
BrandoFan
There was a "Corspseball" thread once upon the time. Right after the Sox dropped the first two games against Minnesota at home to fall to season-low mark, somebody in that thread predicted that a winning streak is coming and fans shouldn't be fooled since it wouldn't last long, so hopefully Sox management realizes it that further reinforcements are needed and makes good on its promise to do everything in its power to "win". Lo and behold, the next day after prediction was made, they handily beat the Twins to salavage the series, then rattled off series of exciting wins at Cle, at Minn, against Texas, Angels.....All of the sudden the record is 31-22 and things are looking up as they haven't since 2000. Then all our weaknesses get exposed within a week's span, the winning streak ended just as aburptly as it began - as predicted by just about everybody in that thread. Now why couldn't the Sox realize what many Soxtalk posters instinctively knew, that there is a GIGANTIC hole in the rotation and two more in the bullpen that will directly AND indirectly lead to ridiculus amount of losses? Why was Koch allowed to literally turn the season around in Oakland and Seattle? And the 5th starter debacle..... :puke
Reddy
there have been huge managerial mistakes, it's like Ozzie has said "you're all gonna get a chance to play evenly" and thats bulls***. People like Jackson should NOT be playing, plain and simple. On the other hand you're all right kenny needs to get his ass in gear. This ship is sinkin realllly fast... and i'm with ya, i'm pissed. sox-r-us
Ozzie has no choice but to put Mike Jackson in a game some time or the other. Adkins, Jackson, Cotts are not going to shut down anyone Marte and Shingo can shut down anyone Politte can be someone who can throw 97 pass everyone or get hit by everyone...depends on the day and time I guess ... very inconsistent

So what are you gonna do, use only Shingo and Marte out of the pen, or just not use the pen at all? Jackson has to be used. He's in the bullpen in a White Sox uniform healthy...if those 3 things are true, he will be counted on to get outs for us. Period.

Gene Honda Civic
Wunsch = GAWN Who's to say Grilli will be any better then Jackson or Politte? Judging from Grilli's last outing he could do a great Jackson/Politte impression. Xero
How many of these bash Kenny Williams, etc. threads do we have?
Xero
This one is pretty much it right now.......... No, I mean from now to the beginning of the season. We have got to have atleast 10 of them...
Xero
Not having a win out of our 5th starter this season, and at this point in the season us hoovering around the 500 mark calls for about 10+threads. Oh, ok, I could have swore we had like 10 bash Kenny Williams threads though, oh well, lets put this behind and back on subject
witesoxfan
Oh, ok, I could have swore we had like 10 bash Kenny Williams threads though, oh well, lets put this behind and back on subject When the majority of the fans figured out the team's two biggest problems in mid-to-late April, and management STILL has not fixed these problems that STILL exist, there should be 100+ threads that are created bashing management. Everytime the 5th starter is s***ty, this should appear ----> :fyou KW Everytime a s***ty reliever gives up a run or two, this should appear ----> :fyou Everytime a guy that the White Sox could have picked up to be the 5th starter or be a good reliever for us that most fans wanted but was not picked up or one that was traded for relatively cheap is not had the by the White Sox, this should appear ----> :fyou Get the picture, or need I continue? qwerty
Jeff suppan would have been and excellent pick up only making 1 million this year and has an era of 3.75. Would have been a nice fourth or fifth starter for us.
Pastime
On a positive note, the Sox are playing their worst baseball of the season over the past 3 weeks, and they are still only 2 games out. They're in their "annual slump." (You can almost set a watch by it). It's sad, really. As for Mike Jackson, if you watch the games or at least listen to them, you will know that Jackson throws 95% sliders. If the announcers know it and you and I know it, then you can bet your sweet bippy that the hitters know it as well. Broussard knew EXACTLY what was coming, he waited on it, and he launched it. Mike Jackson is useless at this point unless we need someone to throw batting practice, because he's throwing that in games lately.

Texsox
Are these the same fans who do not want to over pay for anyone? Remember we could have kept Colon by going 4 years instead of 3. At worst he'd be the 3 or 4 guy in the rotation. Instead we have the much cheaper Rauch starting tonight. At this point in time, KW would have to give up major talent to get mid-level in return. The Marlin's bullpen was so weak they went after Koch. We're in the same position for a starter. Give it two more weeks, a couple teams go 3-9 and some of their players are available. KW came up nice last year with Everett and Alomar. No doubt he'll pull a similar deal or two.

He always has made moves about this time of year. Unlike Schuler, who was afraid to pull the trigger on any midseason deal or was too infatuated with his own "prospects". Needing a big-time pitcher has nothing to do with signing that worthless POS. There are better and smarter options out there. You're not the only one who wants the Sox to spend. But others would like that money not thrown out on bums like Phatolo. There is difference.
