T R U
Houston has Brad Lidge to be closer now, who has been better than Dotel this year Houston is getting better from this deal by far... And now I get to go watch Beltran play
Jordan4life_2007
That Astro's offense is gonna be something. Beltran, Bagwell, and Berkman hitting 3, 4, 5,. I still think they need bullpen help. But it looks as if the Astro's r gonna go all out in trying to win this thing. So I expect them to add a quality reliever or 2 very soon. whitesoxin'
That is awesome! Now the 'Stros have no excuse for not beating the Scrubs out in the NL Central.
chisoxfan79
That is awesome! Now the 'Stros have no excuse for not beating the Scrubs out in the NL Central. What is even better is that tHE Sox do not have to see Beltran the rest of the year. By the way what did KC get out of this deal?
T R U
KC Gets From Oakland: 3B Mark Teahan, P Mark Wood From Houston: C John Buck and now I get to see Beltran play whenever I want!!!!! Welcome to H Town C Beezy
whitesoxin'
Are those guys good or are the Royals just dumping him? Either way, what a great baseball day for Sox fans.
dasox24
I think that Dotel is a great pick up for the A's. He's a badass reliever!

Teahan and Buck are pretty good prospects, but I don't know about Wood.
T R U
Dotel LICKS... 0 - 4 with a HIGH 3 ERA and 14 of 17 Saves Houston made out BEST on this deal
Jordan4life_2007
Dotel LICKS... 0 - 4 with a HIGH 3 ERA and 14 of 17 Saves Houston made out BEST on this deal Dotel is much better as a set-up guy. The Astros still have some question marks with their bullpen. But it's hard to argue adding one of the best all around players in the game to your team. CWSGuy406
Per www.mlb.com 'The Astros acquired outfielder Carlos Beltran from the Royals in exchange for closer Octavio Dotel, catcher John Buck and cash considerations. The Royals then shipped Dotel and cash to the A's in exchange for minor league right handed pitcher Mike Wood and minor league third baseman Mark Teahen.' f*** yeah, Astros! Kick some Cubbie ass! CWSGuy406
Anyone know how good the prospects are that KC is getting? I posted the same thing in the Sports Bar, so if you mods want to merge this one in here, or merge it with the one in the sports bar, that's fine. I hope Beltran finds it enjoyable to beat up on another team from Chicago!
whitesoxin'
Sweet! Hopefully Lidge will be a solid closer for the Stros now and they should win that division.

CWSGuy406
lol..U didn't see the other Beltran thread? Yeah - I wanted to make a new post here, because the *Official Carlos Beltran Thread* was just speculation, and I figured this would be more obvious for people to see. T R U
Teahan was the A's best position prospect.... and Wood is an A's pitcher so you know he must have something good in him Buck was the Astros top prospect
danman31
The prospects the Royals got from the A's are both in AAA. Teahen is 22 and Wood is 24. Teahen is batting .275 this season. Wood has is 11-3 with a 2.80 ERA in 15 starts. Wood sounds like a stud. The Royals got out and got a good pitcher. They still need more though. Jordan4life_2007
This is where this thread belongs, in the sports bar, not Pale Hose Talk. No. I mean that we already have one in the sportsbar. But it's no big deal.

HighHeat45
Guys, i dont really like this trade, sure it hurts the cubs but who cares about them. The Royals now have 3 GREAT Prospects, they got what they were looking for (a 3B and a Catcher), plus a stud pitcher. Watch out for the royals in a few years.
