Yoda
Moyer isn't bad. He had a record of 21-7 last year with an impressive 3.27 ERA.
WSoxShuf
At this point, I will be happy with any new pitching not involving our Farm teaam. Moybe,Ortiz,Burlyman,Esty,Garland. that is pretty damn good.
Queen Prawn
Any ideas when any of these supposed trades are going to be completed?

T R U
If it can land us Ortiz, JD Drew, and a reliever that would be the great
T R U
I would join you in doing that we can take a road trip

T R U
JD Drew is a LH Power hitter who also hits for average... He would be a GREAT pick up and could go right into RF Plus we then get Ortiz who can be a #1... and another reliever.... it would make us better since we have already been hitting well without Maggs... and adding Drew?? Man it would be awesome
soxman352000
That would be awesome. That is excatly what we need another left handed batter who knows how to play right field. I would feel better though if Atlanta were to give us a good man out of their bullpen.
CWSGuy406
Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't Sweeney NOT be traded? Something about not being able to be traded til one year after he was signed?
T R U
I just hope its Maggs for Ortiz, Drew, and a reliever That seems fair to me
CWSGuy406
What about: Maggs/Rauch/Lower level prospect for Ortiz, Smoltz, Drew Am I dreaming, or is that a fair deal or not?
soxman352000
I just hope its Maggs for Ortiz, Drew, and a reliever That seems fair to me I would be happy with that too. As long as its a quality reliver and not another mike jackson or cliff politte

soxman352000
What about: Maggs/Rauch/Lower level prospect for Ortiz, Smoltz, Drew Am I dreaming, or is that a fair deal or not? Do you think Smoltz can still be effective at his age?
T R U
I dont know if they will give up Smoltz BUT if we can get Smoltz, Drew, and Ortiz I would give them Maggs, Rauch, and a good prospect
Dick Allen
Why would the Braves give up a starter a closer and their RF to get an injured RF who is a free agent at the end of the year? If the Braves are trading for Magglio, they would still be trying to win their division. Ortiz, they would give up. Drew, maybe but probably not, Smoltz, no way. Also be wary of pitchers the Braves trade. They seem to get rid of them just at the right time, if you know what I'm sayin.
israel4ever
It's nice to dream, fellas! Mayber we should throw in Crede, and get Chipper too! :headshake
soxman352000
Perhaps the Braves are looking to rebuild after this year and mabey they want Magglio to be the center piece.
greasywheels121
Perhaps the Braves are looking to rebuild after this year and mabey they want Magglio to be the center piece. Seriously. You guys are putting way too much spin on this RUMOR. If this deal went through that you guys are creating, we might as well be the Atlanta White Sox, and they should become the Chicago Braves. T R U
How do you know that they dont have someone they feel can come in and take the place of Ortiz (6 - 6, 4.00 + ERA)? Not to mention that Maggs is coming back any day now AND is better than JD Drew and a reliever and we give them Maggs and a prospect? I never said Smoltz.... BUT, that seems very fair to me and could still keep ATL in a race
