aboz56
Just wondering who everyone thinks should be the starters in Athens for the Men's Olympic Basketball team. I personally think this is going to be a really fun team to watch. Here's the roster, give me your starting five. Carmelo Anthony, Carlos Boozer, Tim Duncan, Allen Iverson, Lebron James, Richard Jefferson, Stephon Marbury, Shawn Marion, Lamar Odom, Emeka Okafor, Amare Stoudemire, Dwayne Wade I'd go with this: PG: Marbury SG: Iverson SF: James PF: Stoudemire C: Duncan
Goldmember
i think that's the five you have to go with. but i'm disappointed with all the "stars" of the nba that where pussies and refused to go due to security risks... :puke

I thought it was weak, but from what I hear about Athens' security preparations, I wouldn't blame any athlete for wavering a bit. As a fan, I would like to see the best NBA players represent the U.S. But I can't determine what kind of off-season rest a player needs. I can't judge someone's safety concerns. A lot of talk-radio people will trash an athlete because he doesn't want to go to the Olympics. But what if his wife and children are just flat-out scared for his life? It doesn't matter what anyone else says. He's got to weigh that more than anything else. Nobody outside your family tells you what job you should do. I agree 100%. But they also have that same concern every single night they play the game. It is less likely but if some crazy mother f***ers decide that is where they want to hit... GoodAsGould
yeah the security is so damn tight in athens your probably more safe there then you would be playing a a road game against your rivals
DBAHO
I'm not sure if Stoudemire will get the starting nod at PF, I got a weird feeling Carlos Boozer will get the 1st chance. Wouldn't suprise me to see James at PG and the Matrix at SF.
CubsSuck1
I won't be watching olympic basketball to see the US play thats for sure. I can see them any time I want. I'm looking forward to seeing all the international teams play, and especially the prospects on those teams.

Texsox
yeah the security is so damn tight in athens your probably more safe there then you would be playing a a road game against your rivals That seems to be the issue. Athens isn't looking that tight. Plus the travel to and from the games isn't secure. I cannot blame anyone in today's climate, when we are fighting a war, who doesn't want to venture outside the country.
