JoshPR Posted June 26, 2004 Share Posted June 26, 2004 For the first time since 1959, the WhiteSox were in post season play after a surprisngly easy victory in the West with a 99-63 record and a margin of 20 games a record for divisional play. Attendance set a record of 2,132,821 and they watched Richard Dotson post a 22-7 record with a 3.22 ERA (6th Best) and Lammar Hoyt post a 24-10 mark. Tom Paciorek was the top hitter at .307 but the longball came from Carlton Fisk (.289) with 26 homers and 86 RBI's, Harold Baines (.280) with 20 homers and 99 RBI's, Greg Luzinski (.255) with 32 homers and 95 RBI's and Rookie of the Year Ron Kittle (.254) with a team high 35 homers and 100 RBI's. Dennis Lamp (7-7) had 15 saves and Salome Barojas (3-3) had 12 But the team that led the league with 800 runs during the season scored only 3 in 4 games against Baltimore in the pennant playoffs, losing 3 games to 1 and being outscored, 19 runs to 3.
