Amnesty condemns Sudan rapes

Arab militias in Sudan are gang-raping and abducting girls as young as eight and women as old as 80, systematically killing, torturing, or using them as sex slaves, an Amnesty International report said on Monday.

"When we tried to escape they shot more children," one woman identified only as A. told Amnesty researchers.

"They raped women, I saw many cases of Janjaweed raping women and girls. They are happy when they rape. They sing when they rape and they tell us that we are just slaves and that they can do with us how they wish."

"Five to six men would rape us in rounds, one after the other for hours during six days every night. My husband could not forgive me after this, he disowned me."

Flight crew beat up passenger

DRUNKEN passengers often give air crews trouble, but Russia's leading airline today reported an 'unprecedented' reversal: a passenger was assaulted by intoxicated flight attendants.

Two crew members on a domestic Aeroflot flight beat up a passenger who had complained that the flight attendants were drunk, airline spokeswoman Irina Dannenberg said.

The passenger, identified only as A. Chernopup, was aboard a recent flight from Moscow to the Siberian city of Nizhnevartovsk, Ms Dannenberg said.

She said the crew belonged to another airline, Aviaenergo.

Seeing that the crew were intoxicated and were not fulfilling their duties, Chernopup asked to be served by a sober and competent flight attendant, Ms Dannenberg said.

He was then beaten up by two crew members.

On Russian flights, attendants often have to struggle to keep intoxicated passengers under control.

But on this flight, Ms Dannenberg said flight attendants were so intoxicated that they "behaved improperly" and only began catering to passengers one-and-a-half hours into the four-hour trip.

The daily Izvestia quoted another passenger as saying that half of the food the crew served ended up on the floor, leaving the aisle strewn with debris that passengers had to walk over as they disembarked.

According to the passenger, Chernopup left the plane with a black eye and was promptly sent to a doctor.

Izvestia also reported that a criminal case was opened after Chernopup reported the incident to the police. Dannenberg said that the plane was carrying out an Aeroflot flight, but both the aircraft and the crew belonged to Aviaenergo.

Aeroflot has been contracting out from Aviaenergo since August 2003, but the incident prompted it to tighten control over Aviaenergo's staff, she said.

The entire crew of the flight had been temporarily dismissed and a joint commission was investigating the incident.

Mom charged in death of daughter missing since '69

SANTA ANA, California (AP) -- A woman who said she left her 3-year-old daughter behind with relatives after moving from California 35 years ago has been accused in the girl's death.

Donna Pulsifer Kent Prentice, 57, was arrested Friday at her home in rural southwest Wisconsin on a homicide warrant and jailed without bail. Two days earlier, authorities in Illinois arrested Michael Kent, who had been Prentice's boyfriend at the time the girl disappeared.

Pulsifer had been traveling to Huntington Beach from San Diego every other weekend to visit Michelle and her 6-year-old brother, Richard Jr. When the family disappeared, he said authorities told him there was nothing they could do because his ex-wife had custody of the children.

Richard Pulsifer Jr., who was reunited with his father years later, said his mother never answered his questions about Michelle's whereabouts. But he recalled the night Michelle burst into his room at the family's home and crawled under the covers, pleading with him to "please hide me."

"She sounded real scared," said the younger Pulsifer, now 41. "And then my mom came into the room and got her."

"I never saw her again," he said.

You gotta love a guy who tears a sign out of a 3 year olds hands and tears it up...

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...wvrs10309162250

Why can't people on either side of this act halfways intelligent :headshake

This story has been pretty well debunked.

The guy in the photo doing the tearing looks eerily similar to a known photo of the father (of the 3 year old)'s son. Also the photographer trailing them for the paper has a relationship with the father. http://mediamatters.org/items/200409170013

And this guy has done the same thing at a Clinton rally in 1996, a Gore rally in 2000 and now the Kerry rally in 2004. He stages this bulls*** in order to slime Democrats.

There is plenty enough to slime Dems with without having to resort to making up bulls***. C'mon people.

Teenager raped and killed great grandmother

28 September 2004

A teenager today admitted raping and killing his 92-year-old great grandmother.

Today at Bristol Crown Court he changed the rape plea to guilty and pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. The pleas were accepted by the Crown.

Other counts of theft and arson were deleted.

Limbrick, who is of no fixed address, was remanded in custody for assessment by doctors at Broadmoor high security hospital.

I heard another interview with the guy. He claims it must be that Dem supporters have no morals, etc. Doesn't find it odd it's happened several times to him. :headshake

Father arrested in Riley Fox slaying

Tribune staff reports

Published October 27, 2004, 3:59 PM CDT

WILMINGTON -- The father of a 3-year-old Will County girl who was found drowned in a rural creek has been arrested in connection wtih the child's murder, authorities said.

Prosecutors said they would decide by Thursday afternoon whether to seek the death penalty against Kevin Fox, father of Riley Fox.

The child's disappearance the morning of June 6 from her Wilmington home led to a massive search by emergency personnel and volunteers. Her body was found later that day in a section of Forked Creek, a stream that runs through the Forsythe Woods forest preserve about four miles from the Fox home.

At a news conference this afternoon, Will County State's Atty. Jeff Tomczak said Kevin Fox faces first-degree murder charges for having "bound, gagged and drowned" his child, a crime the prosecutor described as "exceptionally brutal and heinous."

The child's body showed signs of having been sexually assaulted and bound with duct tape, officials disclosed today.

"Last night, sheriff's detectives interviewed Mr. Fox with regard to the disappearance and murder of his daughter," Will County Sheriff Paul Kaupas said. "Mr. Fox gave a statement that led detectives to believe he killed his daughter after placing her in a nearby creek."

Police would not disclose what led them to suspect the father and to bring him back in for questioning Tuesday. He allegedly made a statement incriminating himself during a 12-hour interrogation. He is in police custody pending a bond hearing Thursday afternoon in Will County Criminal Court.

"We're very relieved there's been an arrest in this case," said Wilmington Mayor Tony McGann. "This is a tragedy that brought the town together, and we're glad there's been some closure."

Kevin Fox previously had told police he left Riley and her brother, Tyler, now 7, sleeping on the living room couch in their Wilmington home early on June 6, then was awakened by Tyler at 8 a.m. saying Riley was gone.

At today's news conference, Will County Coroner Patrick O'Neil said an autopsy found Riley's body showed signs of sexual assault and non-lethal head injuries. Duct tape had been placed over her month, and a substance believed to have been duct tape was found on her forearms, O'Neil said.

The Will County Sheriff's Department was the lead agency in the investigation, working with the Wilmington Police Department and Will County Forest Preserve police.

Grandma accused of locking grandson in trunk

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - A woman was arrested after acknowledging to police that she drove about 15 minutes with her 9-year-old grandson locked in the car trunk after he soiled his pants, authorities said.

Sharon Kay Sexton, 57, of Iowa Park, was charged with endangering a child in connection with an incident the day after Thanksgiving. She was free from the Wichita County Jail on Thursday on $20,000 bond.

On Nov. 26, a child ran to an Iowa Park police officer at a convenience store and screamed that his brother was in the trunk, according to an affidavit. A teenage girl tried to make the child be quiet, then went into the store.

When Sexton came out of the store, the officer asked if the car was hers. She said it was, and the officer asked her to open the trunk, where he found the boy. The child was not crying or injured, Iowa Park Police Chief Steve Klempa said.

Sexton told the officer she locked her grandson in the trunk at a Wichita Falls Wal-Mart and then took the 15-minute trip to the convenience store in Iowa Park, about 10 miles to the northwest, authorities said.

The grandmother also told the officer she is raising the youngsters alone because their parents are in jail, Klempa said.

"She also stated that she would rather be in jail than take care of these children," an investigator wrote in the affidavit.

The two younger children also told the police "that grand mom beats us all of the time." All three siblings are staying with relatives while Child Protective Services investigates, Klempa said.

 :fyou She would rather be in jail? She better get her chance.
