ESPN 1000: Freddy Garcia traded to the White Sox

I'd catch whomever has the best arm right now even if the

guy hits .150.

If Davis has the best chance of throwing somebody out I

would go with him every day the rest of the year even if

he hits .099.

sometimes our offense has trouble scoring runs against the good teams. we can't just have an automatic out

Interesting statement.....

I was seriously pondering that yesterday when Felix was pitching well with Sandy behind the plate.

What's our record when Mo called the game compared to other catchers?

I'd do the research but I'm too lazy!

As for our possible catching solution...I know this is just out of the blue but....

JASON KENDALL?

CWSOX45

(damn someone already beat me about trading for Kendall....)

That indeed is VERY interesting, Sox45. Can someone do it? I'm writing up something for CSR right now, can someone do that with ERA included? That would really interest me...

There was talk the other day of the Sox getting Russ Ortiz from Atlanta for Rauch and prospects. Now all of the sudden the deal has become Ortiz and Jones for Magglio and mybe Rauch.

There's a long ass thread on it that I'll bump...

WOW! I would do that deal in a heartbeat, especially if we wouldn't be able to resign Maggs. Wow, that is exciting.

Jones/Drew/Finley

Lee

Konerko

Valentin

Crede

Perez/Gload/Rowand

I have absolutely no problem with this deal. Freddy > MO. I'm very glad we have him now. MO was promising, but I think we're going to get Garcia long term and it's going to work out OK for us!

Great move Kenny!

Well you know what I mean. Kendall would make an ideal #2 hitter in the lineup who can hit for avg. has pop, and can drive in runs granted alittle weak on defense.

Yeah I know, I'd want to have:

Uribe 2B

Kendall C

Ordonez RF

Thomas DH

Konerko 1B

Lee LF

Valentin SS

Perez CF

Crede 3B

Or....

Uribe 2B

Lee LF

Thomas DH

Jones CF

Konerko 1B

Valentin SS

Perez RF

Crede 3B

Burke C

but is Freddy> MO + Reed?

Right now, yes. We need to win now, this is our best shot in years. You never know what will happen to Reed and Olivo, but Garcia is proven and he is what we need right now. MO is the only one I'm really sad to see gone, I think we have enough OF and Reed wasn't really needed.

I mean look at what the Royals got for Beltran??

Your joking right?

Teahen was the A's best prospect.. Mark Wood was like 11 - 3 with a 2.87 ERA in AA... and John Buck was hitting like .338 with 19 HR's in the Astros AAA

KC got everything they wanted, and they are all good prospects...

IMO.. Rowand>Perez But I'll platoon the two so Rowand can hit the lefties and Perez can hit the righties with Gload getting the occasional starts as well.

The Sox were 23-18 with MO starting, not sure what the era was but it couldn't have been that bad when I do a quick scan of the scores:

The olny thing I hate is why KW didnt trade Borchard instead of Reed. If he did that, I'd feel slightly better about the trade cause Reed is more major league ready than Borchard IMHO.

Some of you still are not getting this. Scott Schow is NO LONGER in the rotation.

He's not likely back until after the all-star break.

The SOX have 3 @ Minn, 3 @ CHC, 3 v ANA, 3 v SEA.

Thank God Cameron is not with the M's any more.

Rauch & or Diaz were going to get 4 starts in those series.

What's it worth to in PR to be in 1st place going into the break?

What's it worth towards winning the division?

The Garcia trade right now is a no-brainer. We got lucky with Rauch & Diaz. Both guys got good D to back up their pitching. Both guys were saved by that D. They were still hit pretty good.

This trade gives the SOX the edge towards the division.

The next trade could give the SOX the edge towards the post-season.

Not making this trade amounts to hoping for the best & not really expecting to win.

Making the trade means you expect to win the division.

Making the next trade means you think you can win the championship.

Even if Miguel goes on to have a great 2nd half, I still believe this was the right

trade at the right time. Especially if we are in 1st place going into the break.

What will that mean in Chicago?

Especially if the SOX help the Stros & Brew-crew?

to jump over the cub?

Wait a minute.

Buck was hitting .300 with 12 hrs.

Yes, Teahan is good.

Wood was 11-3 at sacramento like you said.
