OSUBUCKS2
After this deal, will Jeremy Reed go right to the majors in Seattle as this is a lost season for the Mariners? Or will they send him to AAA?
SoxFan1
I'd guess AAA. Winn , Ichiro, and ????
danman31
Expect him to be up with the Mariners before September. Most scouts think Reed is Major League ready and the Mariners are out of the race. I'm surprised he wasn't sent to the Mariners out of the gate.

DBAHO
Raul Ibanez is currently injured, with Jolbert Cabrera filling in. He'll go to AAA 1st.

danman31
:headshake One of the worst trades in History With some people it's the Todd Ritchie trade. To me, this deal looks like the Todd Ritchie deal, which I have never had spite towards like others. I agree it was s***ty deal, but I never hated it. This trade I have spite towards. Olivo and hopefully Reed should kick some f***ing White Sox ass when I go to see them in a couple weeks at Comiskey.
SoxAce
This will come back and bite us in the ass. Book it. My sig says it all.
aboz56
Jeremy, we hardly knew ya. Best of luck to you and I know you'll be a future stud in the OF in Seattle.

I wish him luck too, but I will bet against him becoming any kind of stud.
CWSGuy406
I am fine with the trade. What bothers me is how they treated Reed. He was EXACTLY what this team needed, a future, not a star (most likely), but a guy who would do everything right, and get on base a lot. He might not hit 30+ homers a year, but he will hit .300+. He will get on base, at the least, at a .380 clip. I just don't understand this organization's hard-on for Borchard. They say he's doing great there, yet he's only hitting .285 or so. Is that Borchard's best, because if it is, then damn, that blows. And they say Reed was slumping, yet was still hitting .270+ with a fairly high OBP, with two injured wrists, in his first year at AAA. Sometimes I question this organization. I don't mind the trade, I just question their lack of faith in Reed...

I don't mind the trade, I just question their lack of faith in Reed... The hard on for Borchard is because he is the only left handed hitter in our system with power. Reed is maybe Mark Kotsay, maybe less, but nothing more. He is ok defensively, but not a CFer. He has no arm and only average speed. What makes you think that he can actually hit above .300 in the MLs? Willie Harris was always able to post good numbers in the minors and hit over .300, however he doesn't seem to be hitting that in the majors. aboz56
Borchard has a lot more potential to be great than Reed, I think that's what the Sox are banking on for the most part.
Heads22
Yup. Reed was sent to Tacoma from what I've heard. Joey B needs to step it up even more now.
Soxbadger
I think the Sox really like a guy named Brian Anderson, and felt Reed was a similar type player. SB
Ishmookie
I for one liked this deal. I don't think reed will be that great, and we have an abundance of talent inthe outfield. The key is to RESIGN GARCIA!
