CubKilla
If the Sox don't pay him what he's asking for (and quite frankly, what he's asking for is very fair), Mark will be unhappy and leave as soon as possible. I'm pretty sure MB is just looking for a little modicum of respect and a commitment to him for 3-4 years by the White Sox Organization. While money is a factor, I think MB just wants to know the Organization respects what he has done for the last two seasons and ponies up accordingly to what other pitchers of his age and caliber have been getting by their Organizations. I truly believe MB isn't about the money at all.

Thanks for stating it so clearly and succinctly - I tend to ramble on and you said it in a few concise words -

baggio202
buehrle wants a 4 year deal like zito got..sox offered a 3 year deal..thats the hang up.. i heard somewhere the sox will renew buehrle at around 400k should no deal be reached
witesoxfan
If we signed him mid-season....we would have him for an extra year.....because he'd finish out his contract for the year, and then we'd have him for the 4 years. If we signed him to a 4-year deal like right now....we'd have him for the next 4 years....why would we do that when we have him for the next 4 years guaranteed anyways? Well, when it comes to signing a young finesse pitcher that has won 35 games for us over a little more than one and one-half seasons, the longer the contract the better. I just want MB content and the Organization to show him some appreciation before Opening Day.
