NUKE_CLEVELAND
I am very happy. Now the Sox have a very good top 4 of the rotation. Olivo and Reed may be very good players, or maybe not. You weren't going to get Garcia for Matt Karchner. It's simple really, you want the best you have to pay the price. I'm glad that KW had the balls to go ahead and do the big deal. hammerhead johnson
Ok, say Randy Johnson WERE to ok the deal ...... The more I look into it, the more unlikely it seems. He is content to stay in Arizona, even if they barely win 70 games this season. He doesn't give a s***. He has his ring. But if the Phillies and Marlins take off in July, I say that we try to land Glavine. The Mets need young pitching, and last I checked, we had pitching prospects galore. That's all that we've been drafting in recent years.
hammerhead johnson
And by the way, damn near 48 hours later, I am happy with this trade, although I was confused at first. If Guardado's name was involved, I'd have been ecstatic. Garcia, Guardado, and Davis for Reed, Olivo, Minor League SS, Cotts, and some other low profile prospect. Can you imagine a bullpen with Shingo, Marte, and Guardado? We'd have two of the five best left-handed relievers in the majors. An absolute embarassment of riches. Al Lopez Ghost (old)
I think we can now safely say we have the best pitcher in the AL Central. That makes me happy! We already had the best pitcher in the AL Central. And his name is SHINGO!
Wedge
We already had the best pitcher in the AL Central. And his name is SHINGO! True, but I meant starter. Which just tells you the old proverb, "Go by what I mean, not by what I say" :-p
