Shapiro says 2-3 weeks will decide team's action

The Indians are going to spend the next two to three weeks deciding if they're good enough to try to win the American League Central.

General Manager Mark Shapiro says he's looking for a starting pitcher, reliever and right-handed hitter. The priority is the starting pitcher because closer Bob Wickman and outfielder Ryan Ludwick might be able to fill the two other needs when their rehab programs end.

A repeat of C.C. Sabathia's shoulder injury Saturday night made the need for a starter more critical. Sabathia's injury is not believed to be serious - he was examined Monday by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala. - but it's happened twice this year, which means the Indians have to be cautious with the franchise left-hander.
