Food for thought

I think the point of the thread was to show how our newly improved pitching staff compares to everyone else.

Putting Garland into that would make no sense, as we already know that we are not as good as the other top 3 when he is there.

No need to beat a dead point.

We've also had some really, really poor outings (sans yesterday) out of Buerhle/Loaiza lately, that wasn't really normal. Overall, I think our Top 3 ERA will improve to right around four, give or take a couple of points.

And I'd be happy if it could stay around four, too.

With USCF surrendering more HR's than even Coors Field, you'd have to expect our ERA's to be somewhat higher.

Just a question, but does anyone think that the home run totals at our park has more to do with our lineup than the park itself. I mean it does seem like the ball is flying out a lot more this year than in previous years, however we seem to hit home runs no matter where we play. If we played in the Metrodome I am sure that would become one of the best home run parks. Just a question.

Do some research, mang. Buehrle, Loaiza, Garland, and Schoeneweis all have ERAs between 3.40 and 3.80 ON THE ROAD. Garcia was at 3.90 ON THE ROAD before yesterday's game.

And what are their overall ERAs? Between 4.20 and 4.75, correct? And what does this indicate to you?

Comiskey Park is a freaking hellhole now. One of my least favorite parks without question, right up there with Arlington and Coors.
