dasox24 Posted July 2, 2004 Share Posted July 2, 2004 Charlotte lost 6-3. Valdez was 3-5 w/ a triple. Borch was 0-2 w/ 2 BB's. Stewart took the loss giving up 3 ER in 7 IP. Box Score B-ham lost 12-7. Anderson was 0-3 w/ a BB in his debut. Spidale was 2-4 w/ 2 runs and an rbi. Box Score Winston-Salem lost 4-3. Sweeney was 2-4 w/ a BB. Fields was 1-5 w/ a run. Rogo was 2-5. Tracey was solid giving up 3 ER in 6 IP w/ 7 k's. Box Score Kanny won 10-3. Nanita and Daigle had 3 hits apiece. Daigle had 2 HR's, and Nanita added 2 doubles and scored 3 runs. Rodriguez went 6 inning and gave up 2 ER's. Whisler had a nice 2 innings of relief, giving up one unearned run. Deininger was solid too pitching a scoreless 9th inning. Box Score Bristol lost 4-2. De Los Santos was 2-4 and scored a run. Castillo went 3-4 and had a SB. Box Score The Great Falls game was postponed. Overall, not a good night for the minor league teams, going 1-4. And, as a special edition to today's minor league games, Tacoma won 7-6 in Jeremy Reed's debut. Reed went 2-4 w/ a HR and 2 rbi. Congrats to Jeremy on having a great debut for Seattle! I actually thought so, unlike the thoughts of some others on this board. Valdez's numbers improved significantly when Ozzie arrived at the Marlins, he's an excellent defensive SS, and I think he could be a real good utility man for us next year. If you love who we gave up, start rooting for Seattle... It's good to see Borchard walking some more. 0-2 with 2BBs is nice to see. Best of luck to Anderson at Birmingham (sp?).
