Cerbaho-WG
Am I the only one here who thinks that play was merely just "good"? A-Rod says it's the greatest catch he's ever seen. I've seen better plays made in this year alone. Go East Coast bias!
qwerty
Also after the catch he could have slowed down, i know he had momentum but he basically dove into the stands.
knightni
He did a Shaq dive.. too lazy to slow down so he goes head over heels into someone's nachos.
soxman352000
I also think it was just good. I don't think it was great, but the way Peter Gammons made it sound like the catch of the year. It is number 10 in top ten plays of the day
Molto
it he should have dove or rolled after making that catch. it was a good catch, nothing more.
1549
pretty remarkable considering that he hurt himself, but I have seen better catches. Jeters play against the A's in the '01 ALDS was superior.

redandwhite
Best Catch Ever? give me a break, I'll take Pokey's catch earlier in the game over Jeters.
Nokona
I don't know how many people watched the game, but you just saw him fly and i mean he turned the jets on guys. With the game on the line and a bloop single like that, it was agreat catch.
WHarris1
Not so much the catch he made but what he risked for his team with the game on the line.
redandwhite
LoL, now dont be bitter. Phew. Doug Mirabelli of all players might have just saved the season for the Red Sox. Well thats a relief. As for the catch, it was fantastic, but I still think that Pokey's was just as good if not better.
SuperSteve
Um, am I the only one who doesn't think the catch was all too great? He jumped into the stands. He could have kept running along the fence IMHO. Ryan Freel's catch was much tougher, and Freel had to jump into the stands to catch the ball. Jeter is terribly overrated, and I would take our team leader, and SS, Jose Valentin, over him anyday.
SoxAce
Jeter is terribly overrated I was going to say earlier in th thread that Jeter's catch is as overrated as he is as a player, but I didn't want to be a dick about it..
