HuskyCaucasian
Will Diaz get another start? I think he should. After that first inning, he settled down and pitched well.
qwerty
I still think rauch should have started today because it is foolish to have a rookie face the same team twice in the same week. But, yes i feel he will get another s*** he pitched pretty well after 1 inning to keep the sox in the game.
baggio202
if shoey is ready to come off the DL before the 5th spot rolls around again then he should get the start..if not then diaz gets it by default i guess

I was not on at all before the game i got home about five minutes in to it. And i was not home later last night. Where did you mention this? CSF
Yeah, he deserves another start. After that 1st inning, he settled down nicely and starting using his slider more. He seemed to gain more confidence in the next couple of innings. Would've loved to see him go longer, but with Frank being the tying run at the plate, you gotta go for it. Alright , well all that i know is that i also thought it was foolish to start a rookie twice in the same week against the same team. I mean it is hard enought for pitchers who have been in the league ten years to do that.

Dick Allen
Diaz was throwing 89 mph in the first, and 93 thereafter. He must not have been totaly loose. A homer to Ordonez is inexcusable, as is the homer to Alou on an 0-2 count. After the first, he was great.
Rowand44
Here comes a little rant by me because I was at the game and I'm f***in pissed: This game should have never been f***in called. The field wasn't as bad the last rain delay as it was when they took the tarp off a 3rd time. They canceled the game in f***ing sunshine and the f***ing grounds crew at this dump took forever to get the tarp on and off the f***ing field every rain delay. Once the rain would stop they'd wait 10 f***ing minutes to pull the tarp off and by the time they'd pull the f***ing thing off the rain would come back. This game was handled so f***ing poorly and if this f***ing game was finished the sox would have won. They absolutely tatooed maddux in the 5th but unfortunately couldn't get any runs across. Then in the 6th they finally did, no doubt in my mind they win this game if they finish it. f*** the grounds crew. :fyou And f*** that dump on clark and addison. :fyou
AngelasDaddy0427
Diaz most definately needs to get another start. It is sickening that just as we are coming back the rug is pulled out from under us that the cubs have to resort to cheating to win. Enough to make anyone sick... :puke
greg775
Good post Rowand. Hopefully the media will write about the s*** effort by the Flubs crew.
cwsox
Good post Rowand. Hopefully the media will write about the s*** effort by the Flubs crew. I wouldn't bet on that. If the grounds crew stole a victory for their team, they did their job well.
ChiSox_Sonix
I agree that he should get another start. After that first inning he was very good. Other than giving up too many home runs (a big problem, however) Diaz has been pretty good this year. He just has to learn to keep the ball down more. The fact that the sun was shining had NO impact on the condition of the field. The outfield was a mess, and the warning track was underwater. The stoppage was valid and correct. By rule, it was an official game, so there's no use crying about that. Had the Sox done anything with the chances they had, the game could have been tied and THEN would have to be played to completion today. They did nothing with their opportunities, so they lose. Simple as that. And if you noticed, it started raining again about 15 minutes after the game was called, so they'd have stopped the game again anyway. Just put it in the right hand column and move on.

I'll be glad when this damn series is over tonight and we can get back to AL baseball with Paul and Frank both in the lineup.
CSF
I understand the poor playing conditions and not wanting anyone to get hurt that would hurt the Sox in the long run, but what really bothers me is the fact that yesterday was a day game that would be followed by a night game this evening. The last 3 innings could've been made up this afternoon. Again, a 6-7 run lead in the 8th inning would'nt have warranted a reason for continuing the game, but with 9 outs to go and only down 2 runs, who knows how that game would've turned out. It's only one loss, but the Sox at least deserved a shot to finish it out.
