Stuff we'll never see in Moron's column

Dick Allen

I don't know if Moronotti was able to see the Cub fan that ran out on the field during the rain delay. He was tackled, but he did make the tarp and if there was a player or umpire there, he would have reached them by the time security got them. My wife left the park as soon as the 4th rain delay came. I went down to the exit to walk her out. As I was coming up back to my upper box seat, a very drunken guy said "Sox suck" to me. I was sporting my Dick Allen jersey. I should have walked away but I replied,"not as much as you did in Boystown last night." He took a swing at me, but like his idol Sammy does most of the time, he missed. Security happened to see the whole thing and took him down. I could have had a bruise.

I'm glad he missed you, and the fact that he got was coming to him while not injuring you, it was well worth it from my perspective. Guys like that deserve to be taken down and arrested hopefully. As you said though, no one will publish anything in regards to an incident like that, unless of course if you were the Cubs fan.

I think they need to make it a requirement to enter at Wrigley Field that you must be able to name at least 5 players on the team. I bet that after Wood, Prior, and Sosa many of them would start reaching, especially if they started drinking early(try finding a Cub fan that doesn't :cheers ). My guess is they would be fighting to outdraw the Expos.
