dasox24
It's nice to see Schnur continue to do well, and Whisler get 2 hits!
dasox24
Winston-Salem lost 6-0 to Potomac, who had a familiar name leading off for them in Chad Durham. Gonzalez was 1-4 w/ a double, and Sweeney was 1-3 w/ a double and a BB. Rogo went 0-2 w/ 2 BB's. Brice had himself a good game, going 2-4 w/ a stolen base. Kenny Ray took the loss giving up 4 runs in 5.2 IP. Espinal pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Winston-Salem Box Bristol won 5-4. De Los Santos was 1-4 w/ an rbi. Evan Tartaglia was 2-4 and scored a run. Charlie Haeger started and got the no-decision giving up 4 runs in 6 IP. Nick Lemon got the win in relief going 1.1 scoreless innings. Bristol Box Charlotte lost 11-5. Munoz gave up 5 ER in 5 IP. Valdez was 2-5 from the leadoff spot. Borch was 1-4 w/ 2 k's. Taylor was 2-4 w/ a double and 2 runs. ChiSox_Sonix
Stick a fork in Munoz. are you kidding me? What is he, 22? Also, Nanita needs to go back up. Better he runs into some bumps in W-S now since he obviously is doing quite well in Kanny. Also, whats the deal with Whisler, i thought he was gonna just focus on pitching? BrandoFan
Stick a fork in Munoz. Don't speak of the future that way. To think, I was gonna include Arnie in the Randy Johnson offer.
danman31
Stick a fork in Munoz. Agreed. Maybe he has a future in the bullpen. I would say this year is a wash for him. Any hope he has of being a starter will be next year. He may have become too much of a headcase as a starter. Deuchler and McNeil 2 hits each for Great Falls in a 4-3 loss. Good start for Liotta, John Hurd not good in relief, JD Johnson 2 perfect innings. Box
DBAHO
And just think when Munoz was pitching with the Barons, he was probably our best pitching prospect. How things can change so quickly. His next few starts are absolutely crucial, with the likes of Rauch and Diaz rejoining the rotation in Charlotte, I wouldn't rule out them sending Munoz back down to B-Ham if things get even worse. That would be worthless. Might as well send him to the bullpen.
dasox24
If we're gonna move him back to the 'pen, then I'd like to see him go back to being a set-up man b/c at least he's got confidence pitching in those situations since he's done that, and been successful in that role, before. Box Although Lucy didn't have a hit (0-1), I like that he drew 3 walks w/o any k's. Also, it's good to see Deuchler have another good night. His avg. is slowly creeping up; I'm pretty sure it was below .200 or close to it not too long ago. It's good to see Liotta have a good start, too. SoxAce
10 Wlks 5 K's for Lucy. Very patient hitter I see. Pretty impressive. I bet he finishes with at least a .280-.320 avg. Book it.

If we had the draft all over again, is everyone happy with Donny Lucy, or should we have taken Kurt Suzuki instead?
SoxAce
To me, Lucy is a Miguel Olivo clone with more patience. Suzuki is a stud though. I would still take him IMO. But Lucy looks like he has more potential.
dasox24
If we had the draft all over again, is everyone happy with Donny Lucy, or should we have taken Kurt Suzuki instead? I think that we still should have probably taken Suzuki, but what's done is done, and I'm happy that at least we have a real catching prospect like Lucy. Rex Hudler
Don't forget Munoz, along with the departed Reed, will be playing in the Future's Game on Sunday at 3:00 CST. ESPN2 will carry the game.

Second straight year with the sox having one guy in the futures game. It kind of sucks to only have one guy in there but oh well, I'll take Freddy. Cali
Arnie's gonna be the only future game pitcher with a 9 ERA. I hope they combine his Charlotte and Birmingham number so it looks somewhat presentable.... 2005 All-Star Game... for reals 2 White Sox Future all Stars....seriously......
