I am currently living in this town called kalamazoo michigan, which is about halfway between chicago and detroit....I want to take a road trip out to Dtown on the 31st to see our white sox play at comerica. was wondering if anyone wants to make the trek with me....it will be my first SOX away game and i want to check out comerica cause i hear its a really nice park and tickets are 12 bones. Of course we'll do some tailgaitin before hand and put those tigers fans in thier place. It would be nice to get a group of SOX fans out there to support our squad. If the drive is a factor you can meet me here and i would drive the rest of the way. so if anyone is interested you can email me at [email protected] or AIM "Chubs5050"

Tigers are 5 1/2 games back, the Cubs are 6 games back................................................................................................

My brother lives in Ann Arbor and I was fortunate enough to catch a Sox/Tigers game last year and I have to tell you, that place is amazing. I haven't been to too many parks (The Cell, Old Comiskey, Miller and Wrigley) and I'd have to put Comerica at #1 on my list. It's not in the best of neighborhoods, in fact it's in the ghetto, but about 95% of Detroit is a ghetto. It's just such a beautiful place to check out a game. And I'd also like to say that the Tigers fans are actually a good group of folks. Very nice people, but I guess you'd have to be if your team was so horrid. There were also a TON of White Sox fans. I guarantee a good time man, that park is fantastic.

Just one thing, stay away from the Little Ceasar's Pizza.

I am going to disagree with you on Detroit, since I have lived there and get back there often, it is not a ghetto. I suppose some of us are as sensitive to that as we are when we are told USCF is in a ghetto or bad crime neighborhood.

To the Bronco: I might go that day. I love Kalamazoo.

That part of Detroit is okay. With MGM, Comerica, Joe Louis, and a bunch of other stuff, its okay.

$5 for a large pizza....

I love their new $5 deal for a pre-made pizza; it's great for a guy like me that loves pizza b/c i can get a lot of it for just 5 bucks. There's a Little Caesars now right next to where I work, so I'll be goin there a lot for my lunch break ;)

definately agree on Little Ceasars

reality is that you cannot get real pizza or even pasable pizza in Michigan, got to go to Chicago for it

if your friends who are putting down detroit are WMU students, and I know WMU students well, used to manage the Jimmy Johns across from Waldo, they are suburban kids who don't know s*** about Detroit. Detroit is no Chicago in terms of things to do, places to go, people to see, but, having lived there and going there as often as I do with my grandson who admittedly is a 9 year old thug gangsta who packs heat to go to various rap concerts and other things, you can tell your friends they are full of s***. I cannot think of one part of Detroit I wouldn't go to, with the kid, whenever. The whole Ford-Comerica-Fox Theatre area is great, Greektown, the casinos, the UD area, the WSU area, up and down Woodward, where ever, a lot of great places to go. Think of all the s*** that cubbies say about the USCF neighborhood and there is your analogy.

You do like Comerica more than I do. If I were a Tiger fan, I would love it, but all I will grant is it is ok. Usually a good number of Sox fans there representing. The tigers with baseballs in the mouths make me think of cats throwing up furballs. And it is almost impossible to crash the box seats, those elderly ushers will get you every time unless you tip them really well. It always gets me how much more their concession prices are (but I hear USCF is actually about the cheapest anywhere), the price of parking, but they have great large pretzels. And the statutes are neat.

That field is a cavern and Tiger fans lack many traditions but it is a great place to watch a game. I definatly prefer it to Miller. At Comerica I feel like I am at a ballgame, like I do at USCF, not all boxed in like at Miller. And Comerica at night, all the neon, is really something to behold.

Comerica is a great park. I went there a few years back for a game against the Blue Jays. The inside of the park has a lot to do, with the restaurant in LF (which came in handy b/c there was a rain delay at the game i went to) and the statues on the OF concourse. Also, next year the All-Star game will be there and my uncle is trying to get me tickets because we got him tickets for the game last year. I can't wait! :headbang
