hogan873
I thought I saw somewhere that Lance Berkman would be a free agent next year. I can't imagine the Astros willing to part with him, but wouldn't he look good in a Sox uniform?
DBAHO
He's the one guy Houston want to really resign, local boy I think.
hogan873
Hey, a lot of guys would look good in a Sox uniform, but I was mentioning Berkman because he's going to be a free agent. Wouldn't it be nice to be the Yankees and buy whatever you want? Except Freddy Garcia, that is. How did KW do that without the Yankees stepping in? DBAHO
Except Freddy Garcia, that is. How did KW do that without the Yankees stepping in? Easy, who would you rather have, Jeremy Reed and Miggy Olivo, or Dioner Navarro.
DABearSoX
So would Vladimer Guerrero, Manny Ramerez, I-Rod, Soriano, Scott Rolen and Barry Bonds, i am serious about this, on the day that freddy was traded to the white sox i had a dream that barry was traded to the white sox.....then i watched the game and low and behold freddy was ours after we beat the cubs....very weird day.... southsider2k5
Berkman would be nice, but Houston will keep him ala Biggo and Bagwell.

We gave up Jeremy Reed for Garcia, that's how it happened. And you think that makes Kenny a genius?

dasox24
Yeah, Houston really wants to keep Berkman. He's a huge fan favorite. It seems like every Houston fan loves Lance.
witesoxfan
He's the one guy Houston want to really resign, local boy I think. Born in Waco, IIRC, and then went to Rice as Tony said, which is in Houston. No way they let him go.
sox4lifeinPA
Good to see ya back PA! word, dubyaharris. I just got done playing here at the U of North Texas, killing time until we leave. Go Sox!

hogan873
"We gave up Jeremy Reed for Garcia, that's how it happened. And you think that makes Kenny a genius?" I know we gave up some talent for Garcia. But as far as Reed is concerned, it was potential talent. Look at Joe Borchard. Will he ever be ready for the majors? Joe Crede, too. He's mediocre at best, at least offensively. I'm tired of hearing about all the talent in the minors. Who has been a success as of late coming up? Borchard...no. Diaz...no. Rauch...no. KW is trying to put together a team to win this year, not in three or four or 30.
