mreye
If this has already been brought up, I'm sorry. But, why would Ozzie sit Aaron? When the Sox are at their best, the top of the order is getting on base. Willie Harris and Juan Uribe had been mainstays at the top earlier this season, but Aaron Rowand has pushed his way into the mix. Rowand has batted second in each of the Sox' four consecutive victories. He has a hit in each game and has scored a run in each. Rowand was batting .220 in early June, but he has lifted his average to .298 after hitting .359 (42-for-117) in his last 35 games.
southsider2k5
Look at Rowands splits vs RH and LH pitchers. That will tell you everything.
southsider2k5
Here's the splits. .365 ba vs LHP .261 ba vs RHP http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/splits?statsId=6742
Gene Honda Civic
Here's the splits. .365 ba vs LHP .261 ba vs RHP http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/splits?statsId=6742 I questioned it last night too... But the next three nights are all lefties.... We'll get a heavy dose of Rowand... It's unfortunate that he didn't play last night though, Harden is exatly the type of pitcher Rowand has been hitting this season. A RHer who can throw hard, Rowand has been cheating and pulling fastballs down the left field line on ropes against those type of guys. upnorthsox
.261.......so he's hitting better than Timo.
Yoda
Uribe should have played. The guy has been playing well as of late. Against the Angels, did he not get the winning run to break that desperate 5 game losing streak? And didn’t Uribe hit a solo HR on Sunday, which ended up as the winning run for the Sox 4 game-winning streak? Though let me tell you right now (before anyone else does) that without Timo in Thursday afternoon's game, the Sox might not have won. He's 9-60 in the last 20 games. with an OPS of .515 :puke

Timo: .272 vs RHP but He's 3 for 29 in July! Rowand is batting .291 in July. I'd take my chances with Rowand.

You don't appreciate the HR he hit on Sunday? I don't really care if he has a .240 batting average like Crede does because I know he drove in the winning run to get the White Sox to 1st place. AngelasDaddy0427
I wasn't able to see last nights game nor will I be able to see tonights game because it's on WCIU but it did bug me to see Timo on ESPN making his "Web Gem" nominee catch when it was a ball that AROW could of easily of made it too on his feet. Hopefully Ozzie lets AROW start in CF from now on because he is hot and he deserves to play. He is also the best defensive CF we have. IlliniKrush
I still say Uribe's season has turned into a pumpkin. I don't buy Hawks whole "don't tell me what you hit, tell me when you hit it." I'm not going to excuse Uribe cuz he's had 2 good at bats in the past week that have won us games.

Timo made an easy play look extremely difficult. He misread the ball badly, luckily caught it, and then fired to an empty first base. Rowand makes that play in his sleep, and then fires home to keep Kotsay(I think that was who was on 3rd) at 3B or get him out at home. On Sports Center then showed that catch as a nominee but they never showed the throw afterward. I didn't even know it had happened till I got on here. YASNY
When I saw it, they showed the throw. They nominated him for the webgem based on the catch, then withdrew the nomination because of the throw. And yes, ARow could have caught that in his hip pocket.
