The Critic
I see that Trader Jim is holding a 2pm presser. Gotta think the worst about this - TJS, I'm guessing. Do you think the Cubs try to sweet-talk Randy Johnson into getting them back on his list if Prior's done for the year?
IlliniKrush
I'd love to hear Dusty's thoughts at this point. I hope they boil him in the media.
EvilJester99
All Dusty will say is "Dude...I don't know Dude". Why you askin me dude? Dusty is an idiot.
southsider2k5
Wow. I honestly feel awful for the kid, if that is what ends up happening. :fyou Dusty Baker
The Critic
To kinda play devil's advocate, I'm sure Baker didn't overrule the medical staff, Hendry, etc., to get Prior back on the mound. They seemed to play it sort of safe with him, and I'll bet anything that given his competitive nature, Prior was probably saying that he was feeling better and ready to go. Dusty overuses guys, that's pretty much undeniable, but a return from the DL involves a lot more people than just him.

You could also substitute "man" for "dude", and you have Dusty's entire word bank

I'm mainly referring to last year (where i believe this stems from) with Dusty's decisions. Not necessarily this year...i agree with you on those points for sure. Not necessarily this year...i agree with you on those points for sure. That is pretty much what I was going to say. Without those 130-140 pitch outings last year, I doubt Prior's elbow blows up in the first place.
aboz56
I just had on Cubs Pre and they said they are awaiting the results of the MRI.

IlliniKrush
No chance of Tommy John or reconstructive surgery.

IlliniKrush
Are you saying that or is that what was said? The Score cut to the conference a touch late, but he litererally said that. They are through 1/2 half of the results of the tests. No damage to ulnar nerve or ligmament anything like that.
dasox24
Are you saying that or is that what was said? I hope that's what was said for Prior's sake. Btw, Dusty has got to be the most overated manager in baseball. He's gets so much credit for his teams doing well, but he overworks his pitching staffs, which f***s him and his team in the long run, and it looks like thats what's happening now. Queen Prawn
How can they say anything for a certainty at this point, when they haven't gotten the MRIs back?
Flash Tizzle
How can they say anything for a certainty at this point, when they haven't gotten the MRIs back? X-Rays and MRI's conclusively stated there was no ligament damage. A bone scan is the examination to look out for.

If the bone scan finds nothing...then what exactly is the problem? You don't have pain for no reason
witesoxfan
They said everything went fine, but there is one more test that the results havent come back yet..... I think that test isnt going to be all that positive.... just a hunch. Probably the bone scan
