Al Lopez Ghost (old)
The Southtown on Saturday said: "Arizona reportedly would want a package including the likes of Aaron Rowand and Jon Garland, for starters." Prosportsdaily.com said: from the LA Daily News: "The path to Randy Johnson is clearing for the Angels. The question is how badly do they want him. A Dbacks source confirmed Friday that they are focusing on the Angels as a relocation spot for the 6-foot-10 lefty, mainly because the prospect package the Yankees could offer is meager by comparison." Loaiza21
I seriously doubt that Rowand will be going anywhere...

th0mas35
If we have to give up Garland..I say forget it. Right now I wouldn't even really want to give up Rowand..he's been great but to get someone like Randy Johnson you almost have to do it. no Garland though. We've been waiting for him to breakthrough not to just trade him off when he's starting to become the pitcher people have been waiting for. knightni
Honestly, Garland and Rowand are FINALLY getting to a point in their careers where they are starting to contribute consistantly. However, Garland has pulled a "Judy" quite a few times this year and Rowand may be playing above his normal level. These guys may be at the point this year where they are at their most tradeable. If RJ is staying at least one more year in Chicago contract-wise, you can't tell me that Anderson or a Free Agent couldn't equal Rowand's numbers and that Rauch or Diaz couldn't pitch as inconsistantly as Garland. I say make hay while the sun shines. Rowand and Garland may never be as good as they have been this year, again.

knightni
Colangelo can take Randy Johnson and his contract and shove them up his ass.
Ozzietheairedale
With Frank out, Uribe and Harris in free fall to the .225 level, Magglio still iffy for a while and Borchard looking way overmatched the Sox don't need Randy Johnson right now. They need another stick, maybe 2. Preferably left handed. Forget about Randy Johnson.
Soxfest
I trade those 2 guys in a second, we would not miss either one of those guys. AR had 2 good months in 2 years and JG please he is a career 12-12 5.00 plus era pitcher all over him. If that and a couple of mid level prospects is all they want spin the wheel make the deal. WHarris1
I agree Soxfest. While JG is young, he has no....mables... I'd wouldn't even have to think about KG-AR-2 mid prospects...
SnB
Oh....wow, I'm not sure about giving up both rowand and garland. Yes, they've both had their struggles but their both young and are turning into some solid players. That's a very tough decision for KW..... Gene Honda Civic
Garland and Rowand are two of the most underrated and unappreciated White Sox. Why do you think another team wants them? Descision is easy, RJ>Garand by a few wins down the stretch... I'll be generous and say 5. But if you give up Rowand too, you've got to sticks in the out field and below average defense out there to boot. Add to that I'm sure Diaz/Rauch plus another prospect are in that deal and it makes it a no brainer... No to RJ...
chisoxfan79
Trade Crede, this team needs a new look offensively like not swinging for the fences. You could include Crede in a package with some minor leaguers for RJ then trade for someone like Joe Randa who does all the little things that Crede doesn't to play third base. I know I will get ripped for this but I am sick of this swing for the fences crap.

Yoda
Why trade a SP for another SP? What the Sox want is a solid starting rotation that will look like this: Randy Johnson Freddy Garcia Mark Buehrle Esteban Loaiza Jon Garland If the Sox trade JG than they will have to look for another 5th starter. Yes, they may get Diaz or Rauch to fill that part, but I don’t think they will make it till the end of September. Like many have been saying, Garland has really changed for the better and has had some good outings.

Yoda
Show? Damn... I walked right in to that, didn’t I? Is it a possibility that Arizona may be interested with Scott? Because I much rather keep Jon instead of Schoeneweis.

Yoda
If you were building for the future who would you want? I honestly don’t care about the future... right now. Like Kenny had stated somewhere, 1917 was a long time ago and he wants to win right now. The Sox are playoff competitors, but I really don’t think they can go deep into the playoffs with the starting rotation they have at the moment. Al Lopez Ghost (old)
Nope, I would. Wait a minute, do what in an instant? The package starts with Garland and Rowand. Does it extend to Sweeney or Anderson? I'd love RJ, but I think it's gonna get a little pricey here if you include major leaguers with the prime prospects.
