Vince Carter?

Recommended Posts

As much as I like VC and defend him on this board, I don't think that would be good for anyone. The expectations and comparison's to Jordan would be non-stop then. Vince doesn't have the same win at all costs attitude that MJ had, and I'm not at all saying MJ's attitude was wrong. Just that in Vince's life, basketball comes 2nd, which keeps him from becoming a great player in my opinion. Vince needs to play somewhere with a dominant big man, he's more of a great 2nd option than a star to lead a team to a championship. He would fit in great with someone like Garnett, or Duncan as a #2 option.

I think I'm dreaming of this trade :lolhitting

Bringing someone like Vince Carter in might get us the 7th or 8th seed in the playoffs. What is that going to do for our long term chances? We need to finish with the worst record in the league so that we could land #1 and #2 overall type picks. That's the only way.

Basically, would you rather be good enough to make the playoffs now and get eliminated in the first round, or would you rather be a contender come 2008 or 2009?

In a few years the Bulls are going to want to have the top pick when Greg Oden comes out. He's a type of big man that could dominate the game like Garnett, Duncan, Shaq etc. Keep an eye out for him, Derrick Caracter isn't too bad either. They will both be HS seniors and 2 of the top picks in the 2006 draft. I know thats far away, but just letting anyone that cares know.

Deng trade:

June 24, 2004 -- The Chicago Bulls acquired the rights to Luol Deng, the 7th overall pick in the 2004 Draft, from Phoenix in exchange for a Bulls future conditional first round pick, the rights to the 31st pick in the second round of the 2004 Draft (Jackson Vroman), and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The future first-round pick from the Bulls is protected for the first three picks in 2005, is protected for the first pick in 2006, and is unconditional in 2007.

“We are extremely happy with how this draft played out for us. Being able to add Luol Deng to our other pick, Ben Gordon, we feel we have added two valuable players that will help this organization,” said Bulls’ Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations John Paxson.

What would really suck is if the Bulls finished with a s***ty record the year after next year & they ended up getting the #2 or #3 overall pick in the 2006 draft. The Suns could end up grabbing one of those guys that you mentioned (Oden and Caracter).
