DBAHO
From Tampa Bay Online, Agent Jim Krivacs said he hadn't spoken to his client Saturday, but expects to have lunch with McGriff on Monday to discuss their options. One possibility is Chicago, where White Sox slugger Frank Thomas (bone chips, left ankle) is out for two months.
Old Socks
Maybe he'll come here as an extra hitting coach. He needs to retire.
beck72
I'm sure his agent will try any team to get Fred a chance to hit his HR's. But the Sox won't and don't need him.
th0mas35
He's about at the same level Harold Baines was at his last year with the Sox. I've seen him play in a few games for Tampa this year....his bat speed is extremely slow.
The Beast
It said one possibility is Chicago which means the writer says that, not a source.
Dick Allen
At this stage of his career he is a downgrade from Ross Gload. No way the Sox sign him.
th0mas35
I'd sign him to a minor league deal and then depending on how well he does in triple-a give him a september call-up. I doubt he'd accept that but he's what..6 homeruns away? You'd think he'd do almost anything to get to 500 and possibly get a shot at the hall-of-fame. 500 is huge for him. If he gets it then hall-of-fame is a good possibility. 499 homeruns=no shot

Kalapse
The Everett trade pretty much eliminates any Mcgriff signing.
Dick Allen
The Everett trade pretty much eliminates any Mcgriff signing. Mcgriff's bat speed and results this season eliminated any McGriff signing.
