Rowand44
I care about college bball all year long. I guess that is the product of going to school in the mecca of college basketball. I will take that UNC bet. After baseball, I care about college basketball more then any sport. So I have two people against me, anybody else want to take the unc bet? Palehosefan
BTW Wsoxshuf how long have you been attending UNC ;-). Also FSU is building a very nice program in basketball also, they have been getting top 100 recruits right and left.

I guess that is what happens when you get a real coach. Hamilton is building something real solid down there, and though it's unrealistic to think they could reach the level they were at when they joined the ACC, with Cassell and co., they have improved every year. I was hoping they might sneak in to the tournament last year, because of the quality wins they racked up, they couldn't win on the road enough. I'm a FSU fan but dont follow their bball program as closely cuz frankly they've sucked over the past lots of years, lol. They do have a couple really good players though. Losing Pickett will hurt however. They just have to learn how to play on the road, cuz they are excellent at home....just as Duke And to whoever mentioned UCONN, ya i agree they will struggle at first, but I think they'll be fine. Losing Taliek Brown will hurt just as much and I think the keys to their season are whether Rudy Gay is as good as advertised, whether Marcus Williams can hold the PG position down and whether Rashard Anderson and Denham Brown can handle the pressure of being the goto guys. southsider2k5
If I had to pick now, I would say UNC is my preseason favorite. I also am surprised IU didn't rate a top 50 mention.
greasywheels121
I also am surprised IU didn't rate a top 50 mention. Eh...I'm not too surprised. We don't deserve it right off the bat with what went on last season. If everything goes as planned with this freshman cast; we'll definitely be sneaking up the ranks in no time. How many superstars? rolleyeyes.gif Big 10 needs to stop taking SIU's coaches, first Weber and now Pantier. Even I understand schools like SIU are just stepping stones. Soxbadger
I think Wisconsin will suprise people and again compete for the Big 10 title. Had Harris stayed, they would of been a top 10 team, but without him they are still getting Orlando Tucker back healthy, and the 7 ft guy who was redshirted last year. They also will play their usual good D, and should win the majority of the games they play at the Kohl Center. To much U of I love. ;p SB

IlliniKrush
Surprise? Huh? Wisconsin will battle for the title without a doubt. Illinois is the favorite, that's all i've ever said. I love my team, but i'm realistic about everything. The big ten is tough, you can't win on the road for s***. Win 'most' games at Kohl Center? I'll be surprised if you lose one. Remember what you did to us last year there? Wisconsin competing isn't a surprise. Harris loss knocks you down a few rungs, but it's still a solid squad. Soxbadger
I meant suprise in that, Wisconsin generally is not considered a basketball powerhouse, but each year they are able to compete for the title. I like to be cautious, as in football we are generally overranked, in basketball under. And some what bitter over the seeding the Big 10 got in the tournament. Palehosefan
Brian Butch will be one of the best freshmen in the nation and will help Wisconsin out down low. That might be the first and last time I will ever see a Mickey D's AA red-shirt.
WSoxShuf
Kansas is the mecca of college basketball. Dr. Naismith created basketball and he was the first coach of the Jayhawks. I like KU's freshman class of Kaun, Galindo,Giles,Robinson,

The amount of titles they won.....'nough said. None of this modern day s***. Ahh, college basketball talk, where Shuf turns from insane to an insane cocky asshole that likes Kansas. Also on that list of the top 144 teams that southsideguy posted NU was 118, which oddly enough was today. 9th in the Big Ten, I think they can do better than that. While Young was the star, the rest of the team showed what they are capable of during the course of the year. And the Cats will finally have big men (Doyle from St. John's and Mike Thompson from Duke).
