Looking at our schedule

Second easiest from today to the playoffs

2. Chicago White Sox

Twenty-six of their last 74 games are against sub-.500 teams, and eight of their last 11 games are against the Royals -- a chance for a late-season feast.

Home-road split: 36-38.

When their fate might be determined: Sept. 6-16, the White Sox have a road trip through Texas, Anaheim and Minnesota, and among the contenders, they have been one of the poorer road teams.

Big finish: Three games at Detroit, before four in K.C.

You know though even though I agree with you that Texas will fade, they have put together a hell of a season - to be contending on July 20 (still 2.5 games up!!!) is amazing.

And just to be clear it isn't even that I think the team is bad or a fluke (they definately aren't as good as they have been playing, but they are respectable now), but that Texas summer just beats up those Ranger teams. It seems like every year they play an awful second half, and that has always been my theory why.

Texas is doing good and I think it really shows that one player does not make a team.
