Wedge Posted July 20, 2004 Share Posted July 20, 2004 Carl Everett completely changes the make-up of this line-up with a switch-hitting power bat with great clutch ability. We didn't give up a lot and are paying him virtually nothing. Plus, we won't be seeing him in the field. Hell yes this is a good trade. to KW. I won’t forget that the man gave us a desperate win in that 5th starter slot and I thank him for that. People say he may or may not be a real SP, but who knows. Soxbadger Posted July 20, 2004 Share Posted July 20, 2004 Maybe a little to much to pay with Rauch, but if he was out of options as some one suggested, than might as well trade him because hed been given chances to make the team, and betting that he would make it next year or get nothing in return was not that great of odds. That was a big win at the time, but he went five and flew, and IIRC he got a ton of popups because he was up in the zone. He doesn't have the stuff to live like that in U.S. Cellular on a consistent basis. Wish him well, but a small price to pay for Carl.
