I missed a good storm working north...sounds like a storm that hit when I worked in Downers...there were reports of a tornado touching down near there during that storm...(not much of any damage - a good thing - strangely enough though). With our walkout basement included, I guess this is considered the third level because the storm is blowing right into the back of my house where it's three stories high. Honestly, I am surprised that no tornado watches/warnings have been issued. I guess there must not be much rotation in the storm. I am a storm nut too. Just sucks when it happens around rush hour... GRRRRRRRRRRR!!! There was alot of tree limbs and leaves all over near there (I live at 116th and Pulaski - give or take). Just east of us had alot of downed trees - see NBC5.com for pictures. It sucked last night not being able to see that awesome Sox victory. Just about every other yard around here has a downed tree, and there were a few across the roads and one even hit a house. I joked with my mom on the phone that I wouldn't get home before the ninth inning...I was right - I didn't get home until about 15 minutes after the game ended... I must give a shout to the Alsip police. They were the only police in all the damned suburbs I was driving through yesterday that had cops out directing traffic at intersections with the traffic lights out. You could have at least gotten the radio though, right? My car didn't get reception for AM 1000 so I was wondering how they did all night while sitting in the dark.
