johndyce
I dont know if this has ever been suggested, but I think if Rowand isnt ready by opening day, or is not being productive, we could put Miles in center. He would give us good hustle out there and play recklessly. Then we could start Jimenez at second, and have decent speed in our lineup

Jim Fainter
Miles in Center???????? That notion is beyond dumb.
Soxfest
Miles is Miles away from 25 man roster.
Chisoxfn
Miles arm really lacks, but its not much worse then Harris's. Its not a horrible idea and I definately like Miles. The analogy to Brett Butler is really good, cause Miles is one of those rare guys now a days that really chokes up on the bat.
witesoxfan
If Rowand isn't ready, than Borchard will be used
kevingrt13
Miles in Center???????? That notion is beyond dumb. Borchard would be a ten times better start then Miles!
johndyce
I think he could help our team in the future though. we really need more guys who hustle and hit for average rather than power. I mean how many guys on our damn team have 30+ homer potential. We need men on the bases for them to knock them in. I mean guys like freakin Valentin, watching him last year was funny. Hed swing so hard sometimes it looked like he'd spin around. JMHO thogh

CF and 2nd base are two VERY different positions. Miles and Harris have great hustle and play hard, the way i like it, but they are strictly infielders as they dont have that strong of an arm. If Rowand cant do the job in CF, get Borchard in there.
Guest hotsoxchick1
If Rowand isn't ready, than Borchard will be used borchard will start off in trip a.... hes not going to come up wether rowand is ok or not, hes not ready and they are not going to rush him.... harris would be used at cf and im sure then we see miles on the 25 man so he can platoon with "royce jimenez".......... If Rowand can't go, it's Borchard's job. And if Borchard plays to or above what is expected, it's bye-bye Aaron Rowand.
YASNY
Borchard is not quite ready yet. If Rowand can't go, It'll be Harris.

You're probably right..... but Harris will be a hole in the line-up and a liability in the OF. Maybe a "steady diet of ML pitching"..... as HSC puts it..... will do JB alot of good. If Rowand can't go, It'll be Harris. if miles hits like .400 through ST..and from what i saw saturday on harris' ability to play CF...id seriously consider miles in CF...he could be any worse than harris

I only point this out because we all know what Harris' bat became (exclude his ML debut) when he was called up to the bigs in late 2002. greg775
Aaron Miles already is playing a lot of ball. He's starting point guard at Kansas. Sorry, couldn't resist the play on names. Yep. they has got the same name.

clujer420
That statement alone tells us how far we are from a championship ball club. OUCH!! CF is one of a few slots that the White Sox are weak at. I'll take their strengths in RF, DH, 1B, our starting rotation, and our bullpen if it means having an unproven youngster in CF and at a couple other positions.
