hi8is
i think that a lot of people are under a misconception. a lot of folks would say that if the sox dont win the central this year and/or go deep into the post season, that KW's days as our GM are limited... i doubt it this year he got us a great pitcher in Garcia and inked him for 3 years. he got us uribe, got evertt for this year and next. KW is in the WIN NOW mode and i do think it will work... but he hasnt been setting up his own nuse of existential design.... he as also been lookin out for our future. yes he has traded some minor league talent... but he has recieved some proven major leauge talent inked for years to come. KW isnt on the edge of losing his job if we for some reason dont pan out this year, god or the devil forbid
southsider2k5
Who said KW was going to lose his job if we didn't win? Is Ncorg hanging around again?
greasywheels121
Who said KW was going to lose his job if we didn't win? Is Ncorg hanging around again? LOL...No kidding. If we don't make the playoffs; there's no way you can pinpoint this to KW. KW only helped our chances.

aboz56
If we dont win the division, I do want him gone. And I'll ask tough question at Soxfest for damn sure if we don't win and he's still here.

hi8is
ive already read in some places, forums, articles, etc. that KW will be the focus of negitive energy if we dont make it... and that is the natural progression if we lose this year, fingers will be pointed to KW
Gene Honda Civic
i belive that kenny is writing his legacy, god or bad right now... He will be around next season because there are plenty of players signed through next season.. I believe that is KW's window of opportunity to show that he can build a winner. DBAHO
At least Kenny's shaking things up, we can't say that he hasn't tried. But really we SHOULD win this division, everything is in place for us, it will be a major dissappointment if we don't, and someone will hav the take the blame. Soxbadger
I thought this was going to be about whether another team will try and sign KW when his contract runs up with the Sox. Williams seems to be Reinsdorf's guy, and hes done a good job of keeping the team competitive and bringing more fans to the stadium. DBAHO
I just think you have to give him another year because of Ozzie. Manuel was already here when he got here IIRC, and now KW got his guy in Oz. Give him and the coach two years together, then take it from there. Most new GM's hire their own guy anyways, although we all knew that Cito Gaston was Kenny's preferred choice before he interviewed Ozzie. BridgeportHeather
he as also been lookin out for our future. yes he has traded some minor league talent... but he has recieved some proven major leauge talent inked for years to come. I completely agree here! There are plenty of (jealous) Cub fans over at Blackhawkzone who are saying that Kenny has mortgated the entire farm and that our future looks downright horrible now, having NOBODY in the farm. Borchard, Sweeney, and Honel are just three of MANY guys we have on the farm right now who really give a great picture to our future in a couple more years. I like that Kenny is making the RIGHT moves without giving up too much. He is a good GM and should be commended for what he's doing here. No doubt, he won't be fired after this year. As for the playoff hopes, I do think they favor us due to a check of scheduling.

Honel is most likely done for the year with shoulder problems, barely pitched at all this year. Sweeney is struggling at W-S. And Borchard, well, there's plenty who want to tell you already he's a bust. The main thing this system has is pitching in the lower levels and a stud bat in a guy named Brian Anderson. The Beast
KW is not going anywhere. He is the best thing that the organization needed after the 2000 season. Its like the way Red Foreman of that 70's show says his 2 cents. "You need a swift kick in the ass." That is what we got. A GM who cared that much to go out and risk everything to get the White Sox what they needed. Kenny Williams, your table is ready.

What are you talking about? KW has been great for the Sox. We haven't done jack s*** for 80 some years. What the hell would we do with a conservative GM? Lose for another 80 years? Al Lopez Ghost (old)
One more thing KW has done that none of his predecessors did - he's brought back White Sox players to the organization, e.g., Greg Walker, Joey Cora, HB, even Kevin Hickey. These guys bleed silver and black.
TLAK
Who said KW was going to lose his job if we didn't win? Is Ncorg hanging around again? Ncorg's theory has been that Eddie Einhorn and Roland Hemond are the true decision makers and that KW is just the face man who meets the press. Lets him applaud the moves but still bash Kenny. Alex, the one thing about Sweeney, he's really starting to figure it out at W-S, his average is up towards .280, if not over. I would agree that the system is weaker at the high levels but has a lot of lower level talent, especially pitching.

israel4ever
KW is a puppet, just like Jerry Krause was a puppet. JR (and the co-owners) has his hand up KW and dictates what to say, who to trade, who to sign, who to pursue, etc. KW has no say in any decisions, IMO.
