upnorthsox
You appear to have missed the point of me posting that, it was a diss against Buehrle whether it had any validity to it or not and it was in the lead paragraph. As to my Prior comment? I'll let the 3 months of The Prior Watch speak for itself.

sox-r-us
Sorry, it is. But not as bad as we make it out to be. The lead paragraph in the Trib story: CLEVELAND -- When you think of pitchers throwing perfect games, Mark Buehrle wouldn't be one who comes to mind. No disrespect to Buehrle's talent, but he is someone who is always around the plate with his pitches and seldom overpowers hitters. The more times the ball is put into play, the more chance there is for a ball to fall for a hit. Any guesses on how it would read if Jesus Prior faced the minimum? Take your Sox blinders off, this is true Buerhle is not ever going to be confused with Nolan Ryan
sox-r-us
So..... The Trib headline after tonight's win is the Sox beating the Tigers ("Sox fill the void") Also, there is an article by Rock Morrissey saying how Wrigley is not that "cute and cuddly" with all concrete falling I guess people will see what they want to see.... http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/
BobDylan
The allegations against the Trib has always been unfounded...I have been saying it forever I have seen very good representation of the Sox every time they have done something that deserved it Such baseles whining is what give sus Sox fans the bad name to people like Moronnotti.....we really need to quit with this baseless Trib bashing....sorry it ain't true While I think the idea of the Trib's cover of the Sox is overblown, they are still biased towards the Cubs. They'll report meaningless stuff about the Cubs and leave legit news about the White Sox out. It's rarely major, but they are sly about how they cover the two teams. The Critic
It doesn't bother me if the local papers feature the Cubs over the Sox. All I want is for the Sox to win. We talk about the players and the game enough - I don't need to know what Chris DeLuca thinks, and I REALLY don't need to know Jackass Jay's opinion. I watch the games, so I can see for myself what happened, and I don't give a rat's ass about the "casual fan". They can read about whoever they want. The crowds and advance sales for Sox games are going up, so obviously SOMEONE is paying attention to the Sox. That's good enough for me. If the Sox get into the postseason and the Cubs don't, then the Bandwagon Press will jump on board and we'll all complain that they weren't along for the whole ride. winninguglyin83
Let's see if they do a Maggs or Frank Watch, similar to the Jesus watch. don't count on it -- and Prior has a good, good ways to go to have a career that matches either one of them. Al Lopez Ghost (old)
While we're talking about Cub coverage, Paul Sullivan wrote an article in April wherein he computed exactly how the Cubs would win 100 games this year, and in early May and June recapped how his projection was doing. Haven't seen much followup to that idea lately.
winninguglyin83
I can tell Pauly how his projection is doing -- not very well.
