So, Who are These Guys?

Well, we haven't seen the Tigers before tonight, so I went and looked up some things about their everyday players. For those unfamiliar with the mighty Detroit ballclub, here's a little stat analysis for y'all(based on probable lineup)

2B--Omar Infante--Bats .241 in night games vs .320 during the day. Hits better off LHP, but not bad against RHP(.263, plus a higher OBP). Only hitting .167 over the past week. No power whatsoever.

RF--Bobby Higginson--His BA has dropped every month this season. Only hitting .208 on the road this year.

SS--Carlos Guillen--Hitting .353 vs RHP. Hitting .330 on the road. Hitting .330 at night. The good news? BA in July is 30 points lower than any other month this season, only hitting .208 over the last week.

C--Ivan Rodriguez--Although it's still good, his BA is lower vs RHP than LHP, lower on road than at home, lower on grass than on turf, lower at night than in day, and lower in open stadiums than dome stadiums. He is also hitting 30 points lower in July than in any other month.

DH--Dmitri Young--Hitting .323 left-handed. Hitting .329 in July. One of few Tiger hitters that fares better on the road, at night, and on grass.

LF--Rondell White--Hitting .242 vs RHP. Hits .324 on the road, but only .252 at night. Hitting .293 in July, after a sub-.200 June.

3B--Eric Munson--An overall BA of .220 with an OBP of .293. Actually worse vs. RHP than LHP. Hitting .189 on the road. Hitting .167 in July. In 3 out of the 4 months this season his monthly average has been below .223.

1B--Carlos Pena--Hitting .215 on the road, and only .183 at night. Batted .313 over the past 7 days, and every month his BA has gone up.

CF--Brandon Inge--Batting .228 vs RHP, but hitting .363 on the road. Hit .190 last week, and only has a .167 BA in July.

Next up, pitchers analysis???????

Nice work... Sounds like the Tigers have been struggling at the plate since the break. It also appears that Carlos Guillen, Dmitri Young, I-Rod, and Brandon Inge may be the guys to watch in their lineup this weekend.

Even though they had one of the worst teams in the history of baseball these guys gave us fits last year. It's time for some retribution.
