Maggs Back On DL

I honestly don't feel that bad about this. Sure it sucks, but the Sox are playing fine right now and that was with an unproduictive Magglio and without Frank. I am confident that KW will make the right move to help keep the offense strong.

Don't sweat it. They will be fine.

im a little confused i thought maggz was on the 15 day DL then people say he is out for the season which is it

No one ever said he was on the 15 day disabled list :huh

Kenny will be on in just a couple of minutes.

Right now, if I'm Kenny - I'm aggressively pursuing Jason Kendall right now. No, he won't replace Maggs in terms of RBIs and HRs, but he'll get on base a ton. And if it's true that Maggs will be out four-six weeks, we need production from every part of our lineup.

I'll take Timo's .250 average and defense in right, but I cannot take Ben Davis .150 average and plus D. Kendall has turned from a want, into a need. Go get him.

Rushed back for no reason when Thomas went down - unbelievable

He wanted to come back. No fluid on the knee.. full ROM.. seems to me that Maggs might not have been honest about how much pain he may have been in...

Teaches me to do work.

What is a degenerative leg?!  I have degenerative cartilage in my knee (now both).  If you have big dough this can be fixed (see harold baines).

I think they're referring to his entire leg. Cartilage in his knee wouldn't be that big of a deal. But he's had numerous issues with the same leg, which sounds like a degenerative issue to me. And I've heard it discussed on the score by numerous people, and "degenerative" is rarely ever thrown around unless there's a good reason for it.

Someone is going to get stuck with a huge contract when Maggs goes on the 5 year DL.

We dont need another power hitter who hits .250. We have plenty of those.

Lets get Frank Catalanotto. He is hitting .335. We need someone that can get on and move the train along on the basepaths. Not another power hitter who will K or hit the dong.

So why not Kendall? He is a high average hitter and is a catcher. 2 birds, one stone.

Degenerative has to do with bones... apparently this is an ongoing muscle issue. How is that degenerative?

And no one will get stuck with anything. Whatever he gets will be insured like Albert's contract was.. IF there is an ongoing condition.

Well if this is true now we will really see what life with out Maggs will be like next year, and be better able to judge where we should put our free agent money.

I do not think this will be the death blow to the Sox, just Ozzie is going to have to be creative on who plays every day and at what position.

Degenerative has to do with cartilage as well (my condition). I've just never heard of an entire leg being degenerative...

They just said on the score that he has "bone marrow adeema" or some such. It all revolves around the bone.

If Magglio has issues with his knee at the end of the season, good luck trying to get his huge contract insured. Belle's unfortunate hip condition is one of the reasons contracts are a lot tougher to insure these days. This is probably going to cost Magglio a ton of money.

Does anyone know what this is? I've looked at webmd and did a search or two and couldn't find anything...

EDIT: I tried heads spelling and I'd rather not say what topic came up...
