qwerty
I think the Sox should look at Finley or maybe even Burnitz. I am not crazy about Burnitz but I believe he is cheaper than all the others and can hit. This sucks that Maggs is down and like said b4 He has played his last game with the Sox I would bet. Burnitz can hit because he is in coors.
Queen Prawn
I hope the pressure is what lights a fire under a couple players' asses. As I hum "Under Pressure" to myself in the empty office... lol
The Beast
Well, 17-19 wasn't exactly fluorishing without Magglio in the lineup. Still, we have Carl now and didn't then, and even when Frank was in during that stretch he was hurting/slumping for a lot of it, so let's see what they can do. Well, true, but with Everett, like you said without Frank, it could work. Timo would pick up the pace and I have a feeling with a move of Crede to the bench, the White Sox would improve at least 3 games.
whitesoxin'
Burnitz can hit because he is in coors. He hit well in Brew town as well. But, he strikes out too much IMO.
EvilJester99
If I recall correctly didnt Burnitz hit pretty well with his time with the Mets as well?? And they don't play in Coors that I know of.

His first year with the mets he hit .215. Last year he hit .274 in only 65 games, and in the other 61 games that he played with la he hit .204. Bighurt52235
I don't have time to read this whole thread, but from the Sox press release I just read, it sounds as if Maggs is done for the year. Is this right? Someone please tell me I'm wrong.
Steff
Magglio Ordonez OF CHW Signed Jul 2001 - 3 years/$29.5M 2002: $6.5M 2003: $9.0M 2004: $14.0M So no insurance policy is listed there, but I bet KW and Ncorgbl would know the answer to your question. It wouldn't be listed on anything public.

CWSGuy406
I'd let Borchard play in rightfield. If the team sucks along with Borchard the Sox will have to pull a white flag trade. If he does well the Sox should get a catcher (Kendall). Though if we got Delgado I would piss my pants. That would be awesome. I can't see Delgado doing as badly as he has done this year. Plus he is one of my favorite players. White Flaggin' it? My ass... Go get Kendall, and our offense is still solid. Add Maggs and Thomas during the September stretch, and our offense would be hands-down, the best in the MLB, against ANY pitcher in the majors... hi8is
what did KW say in the press confrence? last i heard was that he was on NOW whats he sayin? for once, there is a reason ive already drank 4 beers by 3:
whitesoxin'
Those numbers do suck, expecially for the money he was making. That's four straight years of 30+ homers and 98+ rbi. Borchard or whoever else that would be placed in RF would put up the same BA as him, so why not go get some more power? Borch would also K just as much as Burnitz. The team would have to struggle mightily. I'm thinking 4+ games out by the deadline. This of course is highly unlikely, but I sure as hell am not going to mortgage any more of the future for another rental. I just don't see it in this team. They better put up or shut up in this next week.

When you hit .250 consistently with 30+ homeruns and over 98 rbi's, it is good but i do not think it is good enough to warrant 8,9,10 million dollars a year. He is making $1.5 million this year though. And he's hitting .298 this year. Why not? After listening to what KW said on the radio, it doesn't appear Burnitz or anybody major will be coming here though.

whitesoxin'
He is hitting .244 away from coors. Coors doesn't help getting base hits THAT much. It helps you have more power. A lot of players hit better at home anyways. Even if he only hits around .250 here, thats the same that Borch or Perez would do with the added bonus of power. That being said, I don't know if he is being shopped. The Rockies do have an option on him for next year.
