JDsDirtySox
From: Rotoworld.com The Akron-Beacon Journal cites an American League source who believes that Mike Sweeney is on the verge of being traded to the Mariners for Gil Meche and one or two minor-leaguers. That comes out of left field with both teams involved focusing on the future. The Royals could do well for themselves here with Sweeney no longer needed with the emergence of Ken Harvey. The Mariners could be viewing Sweeney as the heir to Edgar Martinez's long run as their DH.
Brian
Not a bad deal for M's. Sweeney has some years in him and Meche may of been a flash in the pan last year.
southsider2k5
I would hate to take a pitcher who has had problems and while coming away from a pitchers paradise. Then again, Sweeney is a walking ER clinic...
