WHarris1
1-2-3 go the Twins. Time to get some damn runs!
MEANS
look out a 1-2-3 inning!!!!
Clarkdog
Radke is getting an extra 3 inches on the outside corner to the right handed hitters. No one is going to reel him unless he makes a mistake, or they adjust and move closer to the plate and hit the ball the other way.
southsideirish71
Lets see Radke is consistantly throwing on the outside corner, probably like 80 percent of the time. Our hitters are still trying to pull the pitch on the outside corner and are popping up and grounding out. Maybe the 4th time through the order they will figure it out. Every pitcher that has made us look silly this year has done the same thing, spot the fastball on the outside corner. Our pull only hitters cannot react and are only looking for a pitch center in to drive. We are getting 3 hit because our hitters are stubborn and cant think at times. CWSGuy406
My gosh, isn't Buehrle at 120 pitches or so?
fathom
The simple problem is that the Sox are built to hit the 3 run homer, but they don't have the players to do it right now. The players that don't hit homers (Willie, Timo, catchers) are not good on base pct players. Losing Frank and Maggs really hurts this lineup, but lets hope we can continue to play good baseball. Tonight has not been a good start, but there's 2 more games to go after this.
southsideirish71
Carlos is still waiting for something inside he can drive. It isnt going to be there Carlos start to think about hitting to the opposite field. Stubborn meatheads. It isnt going to be there tonight. You have to adjust to what the pitcher is throwing. The scouting report on the sox probably reads. Throw away consistantly with soft tossing pitchers. Selfish hitters will try to hit home runs on outside pitch. You will get a 4 hitter if you do this. fathom
No need to have Buehrle throw over 115 pitches this game. We're going to need him healthy for rest of year.
CWSGuy406
This team is - just so different with Maggs and Thomas out of the lineup... I know that may sound obviously stupid, but we need another bat right now, a lot more than we need another arm, IMHO...

I agree, I would love to get a sparkplug type guy, sort of like Shannon Stewart. I really belive that a starting pitcher is not what we need, but someone who can help us everyday. Carl Everett was a good addition, but he isn't a superior offensive producer anymore. He's a solid player, but he's not going to make up for the difference of not having Maggs or Frank. Looking at the Sox lineup tonight, you have to wonder how this team can score as many runs as it does sometimes. Only Lee and Konerko are considered above average hitters, with Valentin and Everett being solid, yet streaky. I actually have faith that KW will find another hitter soon, hopefully someone who can play rf and make a difference.

I'd like to really upgrade the catcher position, Kendall seems like an obvious candidate, but that contract of his really sucks. I've said this multiple times on this board, Kenny really is in a very tough position this year.
SnB
wow....the sox are downright awful tonight, whatever happened to ozzieball?
CWSGuy406
After eight innings, Twinkies/Radke 4, Sox 1. Radke has retired 16 straight...
fathom
Not to sound too negative, but so far tonight, it has been a prime example of why the Twins are as good as they are with their inferior talent to the Sox, and the Sox don't live up to their talent level. Too many Sox players are swinging for the fences tonight. It doesn't look like Jose, Konerko, Lee, and Everett could hit the ball on the ground if they tried. Meanwhile, the Twins hitters were just serving Buehrle's pitches wherever they were pitched.

MEANS
wow....the sox are downright awful tonight, whatever happened to ozzieball? yeah, we started off with some ozzieball, but abandoned that rather quickly, how many times have we faced Radke and we still can't figure him out.....sometimes we really don't look like professionals out there
EvilJester99
Sad thing is if Carlos in the 1st and Burke in the 3rd I believe could have hit the f***ing ball in the outfield for a sacrafice, this game could be easily 4 - 3 and maybe more who knows. Buehrle didn't do himself any favors either though.

OfficerKarkovice
Have we seen enough of Jamie Burke yet? He might be the worst defensive catcher in the American League. And on that note he gets his s*** tossed by Torri Hunter...holy s*** did he get lit up.
