Preston Wilson

Well now that post I better understand...I've actually said the same thing before on many occasions. The connection i couldnt make was how this game reflects on that point...

But if you look further in Preston Wilson's numbers he does have alot of double power (grant you Coor's does come into play for that) and does walk 50+ times a year which isnt TOO bad...he also has a decent amount of speed and plays solid defense.

I think any offensive acquistion would help this team especially with 3 and 4 out of our lineup...would I rather a OBP player or a catcher sure!! But Preston Wilson would help our team.

my initial post was more out of frustration from the game and the appearance of guys attempting to pull and jack everything out of the park. wilson can be a lot like that kind of player.

now, if the sox go ahead and get him then i'll sit back and hope he gets hot and hits a ton of homers. comiskey is a better home run park than coors this year, so i'm sure he'd hit his share if he's healthy. i just guess that if i had my druthers i'd like to see someone who is more of a high-average hitter than a slugger.

great avatar, btw. dee brown is the man.

If you didnt notice, Preston had 140 + RBI's in 2003 when he was healthy, therefore he doesnt swing for the fences every at bat. When he was a strikeout king in Florida, he was more like the guy your speaking of, but he became a much better hitter as far as OBP is concerned in Colorado.

Oh, and I would love to see either Preston or Burnitz on the south side. Burnitz is having a great season, and is even hitting for average (around .300 i believe) and would bring a left handed power hitter to a park that is just as friendly as Coors.

Burnitz is hitting only .249 away from coors and .342 at coors. So no to him, and wilson i just do not really want.
