Texsox
Hall of Fame DH/1st base or All-Star RF?
DBAHO
Very tough choice, I'm actually going to say Frank. With Maggs out of the lineup we have proved we can still score runs, but Frank gets on base so much with his great ability to draw a walk and is still considered to be the "face" of the White Sox. WHarris1
I say Frank because of OBP.
aboz56
Frank, by a large margin.
southsider2k5
Maggs both for the clutch hitting and the consistant play in RF. After watching both Timo and Gload butcher balls in RF ala little league, I really am missing Maggs.
NUKE_CLEVELAND
I have to go with Frank because we were learning to play without Maggs in the 4 spot and then we lose Thomas.
SnB
Gotta be frank. This team has gotten along without mags for the greater part of this season, but now that frank's gone, you can really see a difference in our O.
Texsox
I have to go with Maggs by the slightest of margins. The edge being his defense.
greasywheels121
Definitely Frank. He doesn't even have to put up the big numbers, but what he does to the opposition pitcher's mind is huge.
HighHeat45
Hurt. We have been missing maggs forever now and we are still in the race.
IlliniKrush
The argument supporting frank because "the offense did fine without maggs" is bogus. Not only did our record suffer, but more importantly there hasn't been a long stretch where a healthy maggs has been in the lineup and Frank hasn't. It's like a comparison is being made without all the proper data. IMO, a lineup with a healthy maggs minus frank could get along similarly to the lineup that had frank in it minus maggs. WilliamTell
It's a hard choice but I'm going with Frank. I'm sure everyone wants both of them back but Frank gets on base a lot more with all the walks he gets. And with Carlos and Paul right behind Frank, I feel like we'd score more runs with Frank in than Maggs.
ZoomSlowik
I'm taking a healthy Maggs in this one. We haven't seen a lot of this, except early in the season when the other guys weren't hitting. Maggs is a guy that is pretty much a lock for over .300 and 30 homers(yes, I know he had 29 last year) when he is healthy and is a decent defender(at least better than our other options) in right. Maggs can carry a team when he is healthy. I can't really say any of that about Thomas. He may walk a lot, but I've seen him do it a ton of times with a runner in scoring position where we needed a hit, just to see him forced out a second with little effort in the next at bat. I'm not one to get excited about Thomas' OBP. Unless Lee/Konerko launch one, it isn't going to mean much because he is so damn slow. Plus, look at the splits for clutch hitting, and Magglio has been much better.
WilliamTell
You can't go wrong picking either one. They'll both help this team.
soxman352000
Frank always was able to get on base at least 1 a game and always came up with some RBI
