DBAHO
Ken Rosenthal's Thoughts; Potential season-ending injuries to DH Frank Thomas and RF Magglio Ordonez left the White Sox in an unfamiliar position -- searching for a righthanded hitter. When healthy, the team is predominantly righthanded, but OF Joe Borchard, a switch-hitting rookie, figures to get the bulk of Ordonez's at-bats. If Borchard flops, the departure of Ordonez as a freeagent would be even more jarring. Ken Williams, the Sox's relentless GM, also is looking for pitching -- either a back-of-the-rotation starter who could push LHP Scott Schoeneweis to the bullpen, or a setup-type reliever. ... DBAHO
Catallanato and a pitcher. Gotta think the GM he was talking to before tonight's game (see game day thread) was either Dave Littlefield, J.P Riccardi or Bill Bavasi.

I didn't hear that...KW was reported as talking with a GM Before the game? I'd throw out the Dbacks as a possibility. I think in the end, the Sox may make a pretty hard push at Johnson and/or Bautista.

No details, but he talked about how hard KW was working and how he didn't get to the box until the top of the 2nd inning because he was on the phone with another GM. Interesting, probably just a way to say the Sox aren't sitting back. Hopefully KW is working on making a good deal to help the Sox even more

witesoxfan
Why does that scare me? Because you think he's going to give up Anderson, Sweeney or Honel(or whoever it is you want to not be traded...I can't recall). And, unless one of them is traded in a package for Randy Johnson, they will not be traded.
Spiff
Need a catcher and a right fielder who can fill in for Maggs and hit better than .160.
