JDsDirtySox
WSCR had a sound bite from Ozzie stating he just got done telling KW that he needs a lead off hitter. He said he needs a little guy who can actually get on base. He went on to make fun of the situation saying we have to have the all-time most Solo Home runs. So I wonder, If KW agrees with Ozzie, who is that Little Guy. Go Get Carl Crawford. Trade the whole farm for him. I have heard the DRays are listening to offers for Rocco Baldelli because of their abundance of young OF. So lets help them out by taking one off their hands. WHarris1
Well I would hope that KW bring one in because... Willie is only average...(i am losing faith) Uribe won't cut it now If Oz told him we need one I bet KW gets one.
Brian
Ozzie is right. Last night for example, Jose and Willie were combine 0-8.

Cali
If only the Sox could find a way to somehow go on the "Podsednik Adventure", but the Brew Crew are probably gonna hold onto him for a while

Guest JimH
Guys, I don't know if a good leadoff hitter is available. Maybe a good situational hitter, i.e. a #2 guy. Catalanatto is supposedly hurting, the only other guy I can think of who's definitely available is Robbie Alomar. And that creates a dilemna in terms of where to play him. It's obvious Guillen is frustrated with the top of the order though.
YASNY
The only lead off hitter that I know is available happens to be Kenny Lofton.

I don't think catcher is all that weak. Burke is doing quite well with the job. I think we have other holes to address.
Soxbadger
Burke is no Kendall though. A Kendall, Burke, Alomar platoon would be fine for the time being, especially because we could put Kendall at dh a few days and have Everett in RF. Try Kendall starting, Alomar playing once in a blue moon and Burke heading back to Charlotte.... Burke is not good enough. Kendall gives you a veteran, a catcher, and a leadoff hitter with a little pop to boot......

And I will repeat and reword. .327 BA is good and the fact remains that the pitchers ERA is best with him out of all the catchers we had this year (including Olivo - there was a link to something that showed this in a previous thread). Catcher is hardly the weakest link on this team. But that is JMO.

However if you could get a guy like kendall it would obviously be a great pickup. But Kendall makes a ton of money so Hairston or Cat would are cheaper in terms of money and would probably be cheaper in terms of prospects as well, so they're probably the best options.
