ZoomSlowik
Crawford is a pipedream. There's no way they are going to trade a guy that is doing that well and is still cheap. They might give up Baldelli because he doesn't have a ton of power or speed, and if anyone wanted to take the Josh Hamilton situation off their hands I'm sure they'd listen. But there is no way Crawford, Huff, or Young are going anywhere. They're probably not even dealing Baldelli. I would imagine they aren't desperate to get rid of a guy hitting .287 that is only making $320,000 unless it could fetch them a young stud pitcher. SoxFanForever
You haven't watched him much, have you? Last 2 years Team G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS 2003 CHA 6 8 0 3 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 0 .375 .375 .375 .750 2004 CHA 30 55 7 18 5 0 0 8 2 6 0 0 .327 .351 .418 .769 And defensively, he's been at least decent. But that is just my opinion. Willie hit good in Charlotte, doesn't translate to anything up here. Are these stats supposed to convince us that a 32 year old minor leaguer is our answer at catcher? thedoctor
I agree with you, I have no problem having the 3 headed monster behind the plate. However if you could get a guy like kendall it would obviously be a great pickup. But Kendall makes a ton of money so Hairston or Cat would are cheaper in terms of money and would probably be cheaper in terms of prospects as well, so they're probably the best options. i actually think you'd have to give up similar kinds of prospects for kendall, hairston and catalanotto. even though kendall is probably a far better player than the other two, the pirates would probably give him away due to his brutal contract. honestly i could see kendall getting through waivers after the deadline. CHA means "Chicago American", not "Charlotte" He is not supposed to be the answer, but he is a good 3rd catcher. Only question is, if we get Kendall or anyother catcher, is it Davis or Burke that gets sent down? I think Davis has more upside, but I could be wrong. qwerty
They might give up Baldelli because he doesn't have a ton of power or speed. Baldelli is probally withing the top 10-15 speed wise and he will develope 20-25 home run power.

Davis does has the more upside but at this point in the season i would go with burke.
Wedge
maybe we can get a SS that can play defense with good OBP?
