BobDylan
I'm not talking about his ability, but his age, he's quite young (19?) is he tradeable yet? I know he could be used as a PTBNL, but can the White Sox deal him yet?

Nokona
I'd hate to part with the "god" as some scouts were calling him.
aboz56
If KW trades Sweeney, I am going to have some tough questions for him at Soxfest next year....Don't even think about it Kenneth.
winninguglyin83
he's only 19 and he's had a better than average year in High A ball. No need for a stupid panic move like trading a potentially very good left-handed bat
Chisoxfn
Is he tradeable...yes, but the Sox would be nuts to deal him at this point. He has such a bright future and you typically don't get huge value for a player in A ball. Although for Sweeney, he definately has trade value. But him and Anderson are untouchable with Reed gone. I'd deal Borchard, but not the other two.

aboz56
I read an article here saying Borchard and Anderson were untouchable, but Sweeney's name wasn't found. In my futuresox article, I named him as the untradeable prospect in the Sox organization. Alex Bozich - Ryan Sweeney The only other player I considered in this argument was Brian Anderson, but due to Sweeney's youth, I opted to go with the young slugger. While his numbers have been just average so far this season at Winston-Salem, Sweeney has shown flashes of brilliance and his athleticism is unmatched in the White Sox system. Drafted as an outfielder, many believe Sweeney could have gone on to become a successful pitcher at the big-league level, but scouts saw more potential in his bat and overall tools he displays in the field. While I believe the Sox consider both Sweeney and Anderson "untradeable" at this point, I would give the edge to Sweeney as being slightly more "untradeable." BobDylan
In my futuresox article, I named him as the untradeable prospect in the Sox organization. Maybe, but the article I read had a direct quote from KW, I believe.

I'm sure Kenny Williams is thoroughly intimidated right about now.
DBAHO
I read an article here saying Borchard and Anderson were untouchable, but Sweeney's name wasn't found. Yeah that would have been the Daily Herald Article, somehow Diaz is untouchable but not Sweeney. Sweeney should be in Birmingham next season, and has a good chance to be in Charlotte sometime later this year, unless KW gets an "ace", a stud reliever like Guardado or a great everyday player, there's NO WAY he should trade Sweeney. Al Lopez Ghost (old)
If the sticking point to getting Randy Johnson was Ryan Sweeney, I'd trade Ryan Sweeney.
southsideirish71
We shouldnt trade Sweeney unless the trade was really worth it. I was at spring training this year and this kid has a sweet swing. He was fearless. His swing is a reminder of Baines swing. He has gap power and once he fills in a bit could be a big star.
Rex Hudler
Sweeney will not be traded.......
T R U
I would not trade Sweeney for Randy Johnson... I would trade Sweeney for Ben Sheets, but not a 40 yr old who is gonna be gone after next yr anyways... Thats too much to give up.. If Sweeney is traded (Which he wont be anyways) I want what we get to stick around
