Dan Pasqua's Rec Specs
All you optimists out there can you please give me something to justify your false hope besides, "theres still time left" or "we dont have frank or mags" how many more games do we have to piss away before you stop using these battle cries...Minnesota is a better team and they obviously want it more than us

Ballpark Frank - Big Hurt
If you like Minnesota so much why don't you go cheer with them on their boards instead of moping around here.
Dan Pasqua's Rec Specs
Never said I like minnesota. I just consider myself a knowledgeable baseball fan who can differentiate between a good ball club and a bad on ...Even if my team is on the short end of the stick.....Do u think expo fans believe they are better than the New York Yankees...Its common sense....We all have it....maybe you should utilize it once in awhile... greg775
I think we are all realistic. That post became somthing of a loyalty issue and we all voted yes for the Sox having hope cause we are loyal. As far as reasons for optimism .... -like somebody said, the Cubs also swept us and we recovered. -Our starting pitching is pretty good in theory and might dominate in September. There's hope of that at least. --We've been streaky and we're hoping we aren't about to lose 10, 12 in a row, just four then win four, etc. --I will say without Maggs and Frank our lineup does not look like a division winner. We may need one more trade (gulp, thinking who the helll else KW will give up). I wish we'd trade to get Olivo back myself. But my hope rests in the fact our starting pitching looks good and our schedule looks easier than the assholes' schedule. There are legitimate reasons for hope that we can tread water til Frank and Magglio return.
Ballpark Frank - Big Hurt
So now you are comparing the Sox to the Expos Dan Pasqua? You sure do sound like a knowledgable baseball fan....

Dan Pasqua's Rec Specs
So now you are comparing the Sox to the Expos Dan Pasqua? You sure do sound like a knowledgable baseball fan.... I was not comparing the sox to the expos....I was making my point that a knowledgeable fan can differentiate between a bad club and a good one....Like im sure expo fans can against the yankees....And its very evident that the Sox are not as good as the twins.....From the starting lineups to the bullpen and to the closer.....Can anyone tell me where the white sox are better than the twins? Butter Parque
I'm beginning to dislike you Tony. Your not the conscience of the White Sox as you think you are. Pasqua has a point. You have to know how good your team really is. If KW can pull off a few trades and improve this team then hey, why not go for it. I personally don't think its gonna happen though. It seems as though in KW's tenure, as the trade deadline gets closer and closer, he goes further and further into his hole where he hibernates until the offseason. We got Schoeneweis and Sullivan AFTER July 31st last year, hardly hibernation. I like Tony because he is a real fan. A real fan knows that a club can gain 4 games with 63 remaining. Why do you "like" the Sox if you are throwing the season away at this point.
Dan Pasqua's Rec Specs
Well Hurt, these are two different ball clubs compared to a month ago....Like i said last night....WE had thomas and Uribe was actually hitting....And they were without the heart and soul of their team, catalyst and sox killer...shannon stewart....and may I also point out the are without their starting catcher in Joe Mauer and they atill whoopped us this week

If when they are playing terrible i know they have my support 100% still. We know we are not the best team out there now just hoping to scrap into the playoffs and get hot. And Pasqua, the best team doesn't always in. If you want to like the better teams, go to the North Side, I believe they are better than us. but you know what :fthecubs and f*** all other 29 teams. qwerty
And no one has answered my question yet....Where are the white sox better than the twins? Starting pitching is practically the same, radke is not as good as he is pitching. They have what 3 to 4 reliable hitters at this point and so do we. Bullpen on the other hand they are better, but if we can and a solid reliever or two we will be about equal with them in that. Also they have plaed the easiest schedule this year and we have played the 14th hardest.
thedoctor
And no one has answered my question yet....Where are the white sox better than the twins? well, the white sox do have a winning record against the twins this year. 7-6, iirc. i would say the sox have a better starting rotation. yes, radke and santana were nails down here, but the sox beat both of them up there, so at this point it's a wash. down 3-4-5, i think the sox are better, even though loaiza, garland and schoeneweis have been inconsistent. you'd find the same inconsistency if you look at the numbers of greisinger, silva and the various fifth starters they've used. of course, this could change if the twins get benson, although i have my doubts about his effectiveness against the american league. elsewhere, i think the teams are fairly even. when the sox are hitting well (and no doubt they've been extremely streaky) there are few better hitting teams. even without maggs and frank the sox have shown the ability to have some good offensive showings. to be honest, i think it remains to be seen who's a better team. last year was last year and i don't believe it's an accurate frame of reference. there are six games remaining between these teams and ultimately i think those will decide who is better. i believe it will be the sox because when the evidence is fairly equal, i'm going with my guys. Dan Pasqua's Rec Specs
That still doesnt answer my question, but I will answer yours....I have been a sox fan all my life..I go to my fair share of games during the summer when i can .....I even went when they were s***ty and no one was at the games....I root for them in times of bad and good....Just becuz u sit here on this board and spout out all this optimism doesnt make u more of a fan than me...I was raised as a sox fan and will always be a sox fan....It hurts me deeply to see them playing like this...Even our own manager wishes we played with some heart and intensity...I thought when i joined this site i would be accompanied by fans who thought like me about the team.....I will have optimism when there is a time to have it...and i will also voice my frustrations when i have them....If u dont like it then dont respond to them...but i know there are some fans on this site that feel the same way and like to vent to eachother about it. Bighurt52235
Venting frustrations is not what giving up on a 3.5 game deficit in July is. that's just lame. Isn't this where we were at the time of the white flag trade.
