Bighurt52235
Yesterday, it was announced that the local Native American tribe, in Oregon, would pay for the construction of an entire new stadium if they could put ONE casino in Portland. Upon hearing this I thought that we had a great chance of getting the Expos. This morning however, I heard that the bastard Governor turned down the proposal. What a dick! The tribe was going to pay every last cent of the $350 million stadium! :fyou Governor.

Bighurt52235
Yeah. I think that is the ideal stadium that the baseball group is proposing to Bud Selig in about a week. :fyou Ted Kulongoski.

KipWellsFan
I believe Oregon is one of the most environmentally progressive states if not the most progressive. But that is more important to some than others.
Chisoxfn
Dang, that wouldn't of been too bad. Portland wants a team bad. I've heard some people say that they may be the front runner, but baseball also wants to go down into some other areas, possibly Mexico and of course Puerto Rico. But that is more important to some than others. oregon politics are some of the most screwed up in the union....with no other industry whatsoever back in the early they voted to completely shut down the only industry in the state..which was logging..there were towns south of eugene and east of the cascades that were running at 30-40% unemployment while the rest of the country was booming during the computer explosion...it was one of the reasons i moved back to chicago.. kulongowski is governor now??...i think he was attorney general when i was there..and not a very good one from what i remember.. supernuke
The Expos should stay where they are. MLB just has to relocate fans from other areas to Montreal. It will be a sad day for me when the damn blue jays are the only Canadian team left. :fyou blue jays.

Montreal is the home of baseball in Canada and would sellout every game if they played in Jerry Park or a place like it(with more seats, but not Big bl"O"w like. Super you can look forward to Fergie Jenkins' CBL this year though, is there a team in the peg? Montreal was set to fail, with not being on T.V. and playing in that s***box and alienating fans at every possible turn, I hope the Seagrams lawsuit wins. We have the Goldeyes in the northern league though. They have been to the playoffs every year since their inception in 1994, but only one championship which they won in their innagural year. Go Goldeyes
YASNY
The most interesting possibility I have heard is they may move the Expos to New Jersey, and that would put a third team in the NY market.
DaSoxRox
The most interesting possibility I have heard is they may move the Expos to New Jersey, and that would put a third team in the NY market. You know, as crazy as that sounds, it could happen....I remember when the NHL decided to approve a new franchise in New Jersey, everybody wondered how they could possibly put 19K+ in the Meadowlands every night, but they did it....there's such a huge f***ing fan base in Jersey who are very hesitant to venture into the city to see a baseball game...(it is the South Bronx, mind you)...who knows, there might actually be something to this...... WhiteSoxPride3035
Speaking of the Expos, Guerrero's contract is up next year. I wonder where he is going to go. It will be one hell of an addition whoever gets him. He is one hell of a player.

clujer420
Its about time D.C gets some sport teams. What are you talking about? They have tons of teams! The city that NEEDS a professional team is Las Vegas. The most exciting city in the US, and they don't have a team? That's absurd.

cwsox
I have heard the 3rd team in NY thing as rumor too. Would be interetsing. Wouldn't be the first time NY had three MLB teams. If the market could handle it and it cut down some Yankee revenue, why not be all for it?
Chisoxfn
The problem with Vegas is look how good the bowl games do there. They get like 10,000 people. The population there is definately growing and the houses out there outside of the city are pretty damn nice, but still, I don't know if they have the group that would support a major league baseball stadium.
