I know there's another thread out there on this topic but I couldn't find it--once again Technology outwits me.

So, what is everyone reading this summer? I just finished Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald--I didn't care for The Great Gatsby, but TITN just really struck a cord with me. A real emotional tour de force.

I'm thinking of starting Crime and Punishment--has anyone read it? Worth the endeavor. Until I decide I'm sticking with my Agatha Christies and Kierkegaard.

Oh, did I mention I'm a huge dork? Pushes oversized glasses up nose.

Currently reading "How to Watch TV News" by Neil Postman and Steve Powers. Pretty interesting read about advertising dollars in the media, how shows are put on the air and is a guide to ask of asking questions like "What is the news?" etc.

Other books on the list now are "Sex Lies and Politics" by Larry Flynt, "Manufacturing Consent" by Noam Chomsky and "50 Things You're Not Supposed to Know" by Russ Kick.

i need to read One flew over the cuckoos nest for summer reading...i'm pretty excited about that...

I read that senior year in HS--good book but VERY different from the movie. I guess the author refused to see the movie because they took out some of the undercurrents and subversiveness of the books. But an EXCELLENT read. Really interesting comment on society and all that jazz.
