Chisoxfn
They lose with both Johnson and Schilling on the mound. Well, it may not be horrible cause you know Johnson and Schilling will go games 4 and 5 now, if their is one. I say the Cards sweep them. Mr. Showtime
Their in big money trouble to. If they don't win it this year, I wouldn't be surprised if they started unloading people.
Chisoxfn
I wouldn't be surprised if they went broke. MLB should let them go broke too.
Guest hotsoxchick1
would be nice if we could snatch up either schill or johnson... i know its a pipe dream but if they are in that much trouble... who knows it could become reality....lol
Chisoxfn
I'd take either, and wouldn't think twice.

That would be the best move for the owners to show that their losing money, but it won't happen.
Mr. Showtime
I'd say that with in the next 4 years they'll be D-Rays bad.
Chisoxfn
Exactly, plus if they go broke then maybe other owners would learn too and salary would get driven down.
Mr. Showtime
Originally posted by ChisoxfnExactly, plus if they go broke then maybe other owners would learn too and salary would get driven down. They have a lot of debt from the ballpark and not getting tv money the first few years, their salary isn't killing them. Most of the contracts are deferred anyway, so sooner or later they have to pay the piper.

He'd retire before he'd throw pitch one with the Sox.

Chisoxfn
But if they go broke it isn't considered contraction.

See how their running the Expos. It would be a disaster if a team was allowed to go bankrupt. You know those boobs running baseball would screw up the drafting process and Johnson would end up in NY. If they let them go broke then Ownership would no longer need players approval for contraction and things would be a lot better. Teams could move easier and everything else making ot for a more open and sucessful market.

The whole point is moot since the D-Backs will find someone to give them some cash.
