jasonxctf
we have 28 Games this month. Let's make a push to go 18-10 and hopefully pick up a few games until Maggs and Frank come back. KC (8 games) 6-2 Cleveland (8 games) 6-2 Boston (6 games) 3-3 Detroit (6 games) 4-2 Philadelphia (1 game) 1-0 Oakland (1 game) 0-
qwerty
Sounds good to me, if the sox go 18-10 they will pick up a s*** load of ground.
Wedge
Sounds good to me, if the sox go 18-10 they will pick up a s*** load of ground. Yeah, if they do it, they're 11 games over, which is great. Does anybody remember when Frank and Maggs were potentially coming back?

Frank will be back at the end of the month, target for Maggs is second week of September.. but that is not being counted on.

Well, that's optimistic. I'll be glad when at least Frank is back. And it sounds like there's a 50% or so of having Maggs back for those vitally important last two weeks and the (knock on wood) play-offs. Yoda
I’m sure we saw the last of Magglio this season. His condition looks 10x worse than Frank’s.
Texsox
Sounds good to me, if the sox go 18-10 they will pick up a s*** load of ground. 18-10 and we may pick up 2 or 3 games. Minny is keeping pace to have a great season. If my math is correct they are on pace for 92 or 93 wins. For the Sox to reach 93 wins we need to be 40-20 the rest of the way. WilliamTell
Yeah it's hard stopping Minnesota when they're on a roll. As we just saw, they'll take a series from a better team like the Red Sox are.
FlaSoxxJim
Frank will be back at the end of the month, target for Maggs is second week of September.. but that is not being counted on. Ozzie says Frank will get a CAT scan this weekend and if it looks like the foot is healing he should be back in 4 more weeks. He goes out of his way to say he's not counting on a return though. I don't know if that is based on anything or if he's trying to avoid setting up expectations of teammates and fans that Frank will be back and then find out he's not going to make it back. greasywheels121
I think he's just making a point that we have to play for the now. We have to win and play the best we can with out Frank and Mags. And as we know right now, Frank and Mags are not on the roster. I think it's just a mindset he's trying to implement.
LosMediasBlancas
Jason, I think that 6-2 vs. Cleve. is optimistic. Both Maggs and Frank have MRIs coming up, we should know then.
Clarkdog
I posted this on another thread.... Here's my take. If the Sox can play good solid baseball in August combined with the fairly reliable starting pitching we have been getting, they should be able to win 19 games. If the Sox can deliver 19 wins, and the Twins play at or just slightly better than .500 in August - the Sox could be a game out of first or possibly a game in front come September 1. This thing is not over, but if the Sox lay an egg in August (regardless of injuries to Hurt or Maggs) - KW should blow this thing up in the offseason.
