Chisoxfn
If they are going to spend money on a hitter: Carlos Beltran or JD Drew. If that happens: Ship out one of Konerko/Lee Pitching Wise: Troy Percival and Odalis Perez
Texsox
A healthy Magglio Ordonez and a happy Frank Thomas.
knightni
Percival? No thanks. He is one more injury from early retirement. Perez might work though, if he didn't want monster cash. Honestly, the Sox need a #4 guy. Numbers 1-3 are good enough I think. Can someone post the F/A list here again? Thanks!
qwerty
Pitching Wise: Troy Percival We get him he solidifies the bullpen pretty damn well.
Heads22
Well...Freddy was on my list for the longest time....if we're going for pipe dream.....Craig Biggio after his contract runs out in Houston....my favorite player of all time. A little closer to earth that has been on my list for a while...Guillermo Mota....think Marte, but nastier. I don't know either's contract situation. Chisoxfn
Put Scott Williamson on my list as well. Him and Percival would be sweet, but I know that would be a pipe dream. And I'd want Percival to like a 2 yr deal worth 8 mill or so, maybe some incentives. Him, Marte, Shingo would be pretty damn good and Percy has a great attitude. YOu are right about the whole injury thing, but it does appear he won't be in Anaheim.

striker
JD Drew is a cripple. He spends most hit time on the DL.
BuehrleTheAce
SS - Nomah 3b - Aramis Ramirez Pitcher - Carl Pavano Utility Player/DH - Kevin Millar Utility/LF/DH - Reuben Sierra or JD Drew RF - I want to see Maggs back but if not, Jermaine Dye or Matt Stairs The team would look like this: Pitching - Mark, Freddie, Jose, Carl, Jon G Setup - Marte Closer - Armando Benitez First Base - Pauly Second Base - Willie, Juan Shortstop - Nomar Third Base - Aramis Ramirez Left Field - JD Drew Center Field - Aaron Rowand Right Field - Jermaine Dye Catcher - Ben Davis Utility - Reuben Sierra (OF), Kevin Millar (OF) That gives us solid pitching, along with power and speed. Paul, Juan, Aramis, Aaron, Jermaine, and Reuben can all hit for power, and Willie, Juan, Nomar, JD, ad Aaron can run the bags. Mind you, I have no delusions of ever seeing this happen, but the question was "Which Free Agent(s) do you want to see on the southside next year". SoxAce
Even though I would LOVE the Pedros/Beltrans/Drews etc.. here's a list that realistically, I would love to see here.. Hitters: Visquel Catalanatto Guzman (don't care if he's a former twinkie, he is a very good slap hitter and can teach Willie a thing or two.) J.T. Snow Koskie Glaus (sorry I'm a Glaus fan even though I know we probably wont get him ) Pitchers: Perez Pavano Milton Clement Willamson Benitez (If KW is willing to spend. That can move shingo in set-up with Marte) Nelson (love his stuff!!) To me, most of the players in the hitting list are Ozzie's type players. All of them are grinders. And the pitchers I could say more, but IMO, I think we could get a couple of those guys (mostly Perez/Willamson for me) to sure up the roation and the bullpen. knightni
Benitez is still kinda scary to me.
fathom
Put Scott Williamson on my list as well. Him and Percival would be sweet, but I know that would be a pipe dream. YOu are right about the whole injury thing, but it does appear he won't be in Anaheim. Considering that Williamson has to get tommy john surgery, we can cross him off the list. Also, Percival is nowhere near what he used to be. The Angels cant wait to get rid of him. The last thing we need is another pitcher who throws like 5 mph less than what they did 5 yrs ago. If we're going after relievers, Mota is a great place to start. However, a lot of teams fill their relief needs via trades. I can see the Sox trying to pull a Twins-esque deal with the Giants/Phillies where we give up Carlos or PK and get a few relievers and a position player. Just look at the Cubs roster, spending money on relievers is not the greatest idea. Usually, the best guys throw so many innings the previous years that they are nowhere near as effective.
