qwerty
I want to see at least two of these pitchers next year; Pavano, Odalis Perez, Russ Ortiz, or Zito (trade.) You are dreaming.
santo=dorf
If we get one of those pitchers are rotation will be absolutely awesome. Whether you hate garland or not he's one hell of a number 5 starter. I rather see us have lights out pitching 1-5. SoxAce
or Zito (trade.) Now Zito is a guy I'd like. Is it true Oakland is planing to trade him? I'd tak him.
WilliamTell
Dotel does blow. I wouldn't want him as a closer.
santo=dorf
You are dreaming. Why? Don't resign maggs, and deal Lee.
Rowand44
I rather see us have lights out pitching 1-5. Southside Pitchmen 2005 Don't get greedy now dorf, obviously it would be amazing to have 2 of those guys but lets just hope we get 1. qwerty
Now Zito is a guy I'd like. Is it true Oakland is planing to trade him? I'd tak him. He was quitely on the block the whole season from what i have heard.
Rowand44
Dotel does blow. I wouldn't want him as a closer. Neither would I and I'm sure qwerty wouldn't either. We're both trying to say he's one hell of a setup man, but I agree he's not a good closer at all.
SoxAce
he's one hell of a setup man, but I agree he's not a good closer at all. Agreed.
qwerty
He is a closer.. a mediocre one at that. 35 IP, 7 HRs given up, 4 blown saves, and an ERA of 4.54. That is not his natural role, he is being forced to do something he is not capable of.
Heads22
For Zito...wow...I would've given up Reed for him in a second.
SoxAce
He was quitely on the block the whole season from what i have heard. I'd take him in a heartbeat regardless of the season he's having now.
Rowand44
Agreed. OT: Ace, I heard you missed me.
santo=dorf
You guys think Urbina would take a "friend of Ozzie's" discount? What kind of option does he have with Detroit?
qwerty
For Zito...wow...I would've given up Reed for him in a second. It would have taken you that long.
santo=dorf
For Zito...wow...I would've given up Reed for him in a second. How about Garland, Cotts and a prospect?
Rowand44
I hear all the time that one of the big 3 is definitely getting traded in the offseason. I'd obviously love to have zito, however I'd like Pavano more but I won't get greedy, I'll take zito.
SoxAce
Garcia/Zito/Contreras/Buehrle/Garland (or FA)= sick.. Perfect balence of power pitchers (Garcia, Contreras) Finesse (Zito, Buehrle) and a sinker baller in Garland or another FA.
WilliamTell
Dotel is a very good setup man.
knightni
Basically, what I was getting at is this: Dotel will not want to be a setup man again since he is a closer now (READ: He does not want to be paid like a setup man, but paid like a closer). SoxAce
OT: Ace, I heard you missed me. Look above my sig. You, Minny, and DB are on my "special" list..

Heads22
I'd give up just about anything at the minor league level that doesn't end in Weeney, Erson or Carthy. Or Kowski.

Zito is definitely more proven, I understand how people would want zito more, but Pavano has been the guy I've wanted for a while, everytime I watch the guy pitch he impresses me more and more, I just think Pavano is an absolute stud, but you can't go wrong either way.
